In attempt to reduce redundancy between stations I will be removing most 80s songs from SST. This is also in response to listener concerns of SST having too many songs instead of score. Of course all score material on 80s albums will remain as well as some key songs.

Removed:
Purple Rain - Prince

I loved the 80's j.com.. adored them...had some of the best times of my life during the 80's..

That particular song just happens to be the downfall of one of my favorite bands. Sad

We'll have more than just that song by Berlin on 1980's. I may do some work to Top Gun here too.

Nate put you up to this didn't he?

Leave Top Gun alone! You're not deleting all vocal tracks I'd hope? Keep key songs that define the movie perhaps? Happy medium for some? Smile

Anyone? Hello?

Does that include the vocal tracks from "Mad Max", "Superbad", and the James Bond movies, JERIC?

Good call. I think that a lot of those 80's songs propbably started off as being played on Friday's, for fun, or just as something different from time to time, but they have come to take up way too big of a chunk of a typical SST queue on a regular basis. It's great that 80's FM wil get going so that people can still have their fix, over there that is.

Good call, JERIC. Thanks for everything.

Thanks for the feedback so far everyone. Lennie, it will be a case by case situation. I have already taken a few Transformers songs off and I feel like I kept the ones most pertinent to the movie. I will keep songs that are theme songs or are very closely associated with the movie.
