Hi, SST folks !
... tonight is MTV night. Supposed 1,2 billion people front the TV Screen. Is this only speculative statistics ????
http://www.mtv.com/overdrive/?name=features&id=1572605
My colleagues of German Radio Culture (Deutschlandradio Kultur) did a poll among the editors of music radio stations, music magazines etc. ...
And ?? - It seems MTV is sitting on the branch, cutting it's own future. Or even already has cut. Does MTV test the free fall now ?? - MTV isn't that what it has been till midth the 90th last century. Instead of Video clips "personality shows" with "Pimp my Ride" or Celebrity shows with "PH" (sorry, this name I don't bring over my lips it is not worth to be named, guess on your own who might be this hotel inheritress)...
A drug junkie, (supposed) killer of the NY bronch and producer of porno clips, Dogg, Diggy, Dug, Snoop Diggi Doggy is the moderator !! - Can't believe it. Decadence of Western society. HOw can the medias honour such a person with this job tonight ?? Oh Yeah1, I forgot: I wanna be made...
Anyhow, it is as it is. And let's start a dicussion here, what's the importance of medias and music industries, e.g. MTV for Film scores. The EMA 2007 has a category called "New Sounds for Europe". Hmmm... Nice topic. Check it out ! - Or is MySpace (actual members: 207,738,531 million) and YouTube today that what MTV http://www.mtv.com/overdrive/?name=features&id=1572605 was 10-15 years ago ??
If you like to get some advice, the Columbia Label - http://www.columbiarecords.com/ , which was bought 1988 by Sony Music (now SonyBMG) did a study about such questions. Might be inspiring for the ongoing politics of SST how they treat music industries...

With interests I will follow the ongoing discussion, maybe initialized by EMA2007 ?!
Enjoy good music ! - Greetings from Europe/Germany/Hamburg - ElJay. |
