Just trying to get ideas on what to play on Halloween. I'm going to buy a few more halloween CDs before then too. So submit your ideas on what should be played from the current playlist as well as what would be added to the playlist.

Thanks

How about From Hell?

It doesn't exactly resemble a scary Halloween soundtrack but fits the nature of the rest of the soundtracks mentioned. It could be a good addition since it will contrast alot of the soundtracks mentioned above.

I was actually contemplating adding this one. I really like the soundtrack, From Hell. Now that you mentioned it, I'm considering it even more.

Here are some soundtracks I'm thinking of buying for the Halloween Theme:

Casper - James Horner
Friday The 13th: The Series - Fred Mollin
Scream And Scream 2 - Marco Beltrami

Do you think these soundtracks should be added?

King Kong - John Barry
Escape From L.A. - John Carpenter
Escape From New York - John Carpenter

I think your playlist leaves out a lot of very topical soundtracks because they aren't scary -- I think it would get old if it was all dark, spooky music. I suggest including some of the more upbeat yet still Halloween-themed soundtracks.

Here are some that I think would fit -- not saying you should necessarily use all of these:

Movies already in playlist:
Beetlejuice - Danny Elfman
Devil's Advocate - James Newton Howard
End of Days - John Debney
From Hell - Trevor Jones
Ghostbusters - Elmer Berstein
Harry Potter - John Williams
Hocus Pocus - John Debney
Signs - James Newton Howard
Sixth Sense - James Newton Howard
Sleepy Hollow - Danny Elfman
Stigmata - Billy Corgan, Mike Garson
Twilight Zone - Various

Games already in playlist:
Castlevania, Dracula New Classic - Konami
Castlevania, Symphony Of The Night - Michiru Yamane
Diablo 2 - Matt Uelmen
Dracula Battle Perfect Selection
Dracula Battle II Perfect Selection

Ideas for new additions:
The Omen - Jerry Goldsmith (first horror score to win an oscar)
The Others - Alejandro Amenabar
Psycho - Bernard Herrmann
Bride of Frankenstein - Franz Waxman

Quake (pc game) - Nine Inch Nails

I own the Casper soundtrack...it's very lighthearted with little spooky music, but I think it would make a great addition to your Halloween playlist, since so many of the scores on there are dark!

Have you considered adding either of the Mummy movie soundtracks? The movies aren't really Halloween themed but they are kind of scary, and mummies are such popular Halloween figures... [Smile]

I was going to suggest Beetlejuice, but Aur has already included it... after reviewing Aur's list I'm in support of it's addition with the exception of the two dracula discs.

I've actually never heard those two... I just figured they sound sufficiently Halloweenish. [Smile]

Ok, Diablo 2 is a definite. The Castlevania/Dracula stuff probably won't fit though.

Does anyone know if Heaven & Hell - Vangelis would be good for this occasion?

You going to include any of the movies I suggested, JERIC? "Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!" [Wink]

The Addams Family or Addams Family Values STs might also make good Halloween additions.

Oh, and you should change the name of the site to Screaming Soundtracks for the occasion. Heh heh. [Wink]

Alright, since I like John Williams so much, I am going to suggest Jaws. It's still in the horror genre, but is that stretching it a bit?
