I'm eagerly awaiting the opening of the Golden Compass film and thought it would be fun to see what your daemons were. I'm such a sucker for this type of marketing but only because the daemons are so cute! A daemon is an animal companion that represents a person's inner self.
You can see your daemon at the Golden Compass website by clicking on 'Meet your daemon' and doing a little personality quiz.

Hey, zir! I figured it was only a matter of time until someone began this thread!
I got an ocelot, too. I always figured my daemon was some sort of cat. I mean, I'm solitary, finicky, and really proud, but I get embarrassed easily when I get caught at less than my best. The quiz named my daemon Skaene, though, and that's not really what I had in mind. I have to come up with a new daemon name. Something classier. The best daemon names are at least 3 syllables, I think.
My husband also got the ocelot. This is probably a function of the quiz only having about twenty possible daemons. I called dibs, though, so he has to choose something else.  |

It would be interesting to know if that's because everyone here loves soundtracks, plus most of us spend a lot of time on computers and in chat.
If we asked some family members or friends who are not into "serious" music and who do not spend much time at a desk, to take the test, I wonder if "solitary" would not show up. |
