I think one day can be the day of musical films.
Suggested day can be the premiere day of the first musical films. |

Are we talking only the ones that didn't have a broadway show? _________________ I do not wake up with thoughts of control and rebellion, but thoughts of purpose and righteousness and the empowerment to fulfill those convictions that define me. |

For me, films musicals, are films musicals. If the origin is in a Broadway show or not, I think is not important to valorate the film.
HairSpray is not a musical films because is a adaptation of a Broadway show? Music can be not original, but is musical film score.
In the case of HairSpray, if I am not worng, they do a new song for the film.
Two think must be discused also:
- Animation films can considerer musical film? Think in Nightmare before Christmast.
- How many songs will be minimum for considerer is a musical film.
And one thing must be think, musical numbers but without sings, they are musical also. Remember how many Fred Astaire dancing number has not a sings. |

I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I couldn't stand a whole day with musicals. I like most of them, but not too often, and not all day long, even if I know that not anybody will follow the theme day.
And don't forget that you got a Buffy musical, a Xena musical. Danger is everywhere... _________________ There is no problem that can't be solve without any solution |

However, seems to me we would have to add a few dozen more sound tracks to our collection. And would we want to do that to the powers that be? All the Barbara Streisand, Doris Day, Paint Your Wagon, Julie Andrews, we could go on and on.
As I say I love a good Musical, but am wondering how much space would this take up?
OH and I want the King and I with the handsome Yule Brenner!!
{Reminds me of Pete, that is why I like it} _________________ A good sound track will let me relive the movie, I can cry over them as well. Hand me the tissues...please. |

Musicals have been discussed quite a bit in another thread.
Personally I'm not thrilled about the idea.
(Then again, it would flush many of the vocal tracks out of the queue for a week or so, which may not be a bad idea.) |
