|
I am doing a school project and I have a few soundtracks that I could use (Congo, Lost World game soundtrack) but I wondered if you guys had any more suggestions? It's for a dance so it needs to have an obvious rhythm - at least for one section of music.
I like to educate my children in the wonders of movie music early!
Any suggestions welcome - thanks! |

There was a game called Brutal: Paws of Fury for the Sega CD (Mega CD) game system. It had all dance/jungle type music. You can probably pick it up on ebay for a few bucks. The thing about the Sega CD was that the game was track one on the cd and all the other tracks were regular cd audio. Basically, you buy the game and play tracks 2 through whatever to hear the music in a regular cd player. It's not authentic obviously. It's more like dance music jungle style. Just a suggestion. _________________ I do not wake up with thoughts of control and rebellion, but thoughts of purpose and righteousness and the empowerment to fulfill those convictions that define me. |

It's not a soundtrack and it's not the best tune to dance to but what comes to my mind first is the track "Great mission" by Yello from their album titled: "You gotta say yes to another excess".
It has sounds of jungle and some words about "the jungle near manaus the amazonas full of piranhas".
Maybe you could use it as some kind of background or build up music _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

Here are some that come to mind-
Jerry Goldsmith - Medicine Man
Henry Mancini - Hatari
Hans Zimmer - Lion King |

It's not exactly film music, but I highly recommend the work by Mexican composer and performer Xavier Quijas Yxayotl. His music is very convincingly suggestive of the jungles of pre-Columbian Central America.
You can hear clips and download individual tracks from both Amazon and iTunes. His albums Singing Earth, Aztec Dances, and Mayan Ancestral Music are all very good, and should contain the type of tribal beat you are looking for. Good luck!
