There are many, but Schindler's List comes to mind first, the main violin theme especially. Another one is Taku Iwasaki's excellent song Kotowari in Samurai X OVA (Rurouni Kenshin anime)

There are many depressing tracks I've heard in my life, but the only two I can think of is this:

Hulk (Danny Elfman)- The Truth Revealed
The Iron Giant (Michael Kamen)- No Following Crying or Very sad

Many of my picks have been said already. For me, there is also Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (Tan Dun).

Oh, and Final Fantasy X (Nobuo Uematsu). I never thought playing a game could make me all soft and mushy like that, then they accompany that storyline with music that made me wish the game would last just a little bit longer. I was that close to weeping when I finally turned the PS2 off!

I'll go with Schindler's list too. I cannot prevent myself from crying or at least getting highly depressed every time I hear it.

A very close second, and I cannot explain why really, is The Last Samurai. It's really moving and if I watch the movie with it, I finish the box of tissues.

The slow movement from Mahler's Symphony #5 is pretty darn depressing. It was used in the film Death in Venice, which, as you can probably guess from the title, is not exactly cheerful.

Schindler's List is a very moving. Also, Mozart's requiem's are quite moving. Personally, anytime I hear "Amazing Grace" played with bagpipe (thinking Star Trek 2), I always cry. And pretty much all the sad Disney tunes(yes, I know they're not classical) get to me. "When somebody loved me" or "I'll be in your heart" really make me emotional.

:cry:Bran Bal, the Village Without Souls by Nobuo Uematsu from FFIX ost.
This was very touching for me.

In the game this themes are like a suite:
06 - Terra
07 - Bran Bal, the Village Without Souls
08 - Pandemonium, the Castle Frozen in Time
09 - You're Not Alone!
10 - Passing Sorrow
A siuite of emotions for me.

movies/ost:
The crow
I.A.
Braveheart

composers:
Yann Tiersen

Bands:
Lacrimosa
Blackfield
Empyrium
Stoa
And a sad etc. Wink
