Thanks Albi.
We qualified for Euro finals for the first time in history and this alone was really big success. True is that we still have a lot to learn as footballl team and it was plain to see in our matches.
I hope that our Dutch coach (Leo Beenhakker) will continue his good work in Poland an we will be able to enjoy many more happy moments during World Cup 2010. _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

Another couple of great nights of football. Michael Ballacks goal was brilliant yesterday! Poor old France, bottom of their group - but, excuse me, was the Ref Italian? Some of his decisions were shocking!
One more group stage set of games to go and then quarter finals! I still reckon Holland - particularly on the strength of a massively altered team tonight! Also I have a vested interest in Holland as Robin Van Persie plays for Arsenal (my team here inthe UK!) |

i watched the french vs italy game...my goodness!! even the first 8 minutes were intense. agree though mellow, some of his calls were unfair towards the french, but both were playing very aggressively.....good game. was not a football fan, but i think they got me hooked! lol. ...now for those games tonight... _________________ The right song can turn an emperor into a laughing stock, can bring down dynasties. Oh well, at least there was only one goal in it! Maybe my other predictions will be more accurate! |

I normally get the blame for everything
But it is addictive, I agree! If only the next three quarter finals are as entertaining this tournament will just get better and better.
By the way, Jaded, I'm starting to think this thread needs to be called the "mellow and Jaded talk football" thread |

Germany did great last night. I hope they reach the finals together with The Netherlands of course. Then Germany will lose. _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

oh my goodness....the turkey croatia game was awful, but great at the end!! They played so bad the first half, and only did anything good imo the last few minutes...but over time then penalty kicks proved that turkey was more lucky tonight! Great game at the end Turkey now gets to play Germany...that will be a really interesting game!!! I am sort of afraid what will happen around here!

A bit of a change from a week and a half ago Jaded!
What drama tonight! It was a pretty dull game and bless them, Croatia did try. But it just shows that spoiling tactics work! I couldn't believe it when they equalised! Unbelievable! Football drama at its best! I can't help but think if Turkey meet Holland or Germany the same tactic won't work! |
