I'm not sure who is responsible (Pesa?) for the favorites feature for the albums and traks - but I want to thank you bunches - and bunches and bunches (and from the bottom of my heart!) Especially for us with memory problems and fairly new ST collectors - it helps me learn and remember which songs or artists that I may have stumbled on or someone else requested that I really enjoy listening to!!
I still have yet to really master it - but it helped to read the suggestions here. Again, SST is so awesome! Keep up the good work guys!

I tried to add a comment to one of my favorites and I got an error message.
After a few tries, I think I've figured out that it happens when I add special characters. For example, I tried to add the comment "What's up?" and I received the following error message:
Quote: |
Can't write Favorites comments.
Error: You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 's up?' WHERE user_id = 10621 AND songid = 191398' at line 2
UPDATE wish_list_tracks SET comments='What\\'s up?' WHERE user_id = 10621 AND songid = 191398 ;
|
I imagine this is an easy fix. Or, we'll all have to add a \\ before our 's. (Boy, Victor Borge would have loved SQL syntax.)
But for now, I'll just make comments without proper punctuation.

About the icons in the "Now Playing", you can easily acces them by going to the "Album Information" page (just a click on the cover). By now we don't want to add more info to the main page. |
I had some thoughts about that, actually. I think a "direct to favorites" icon in the Now Playing area might be nice. I'm not sure what the issue with it is, so I may be speaking from ignorance. It won't be the first time that's happened....today....so.....
Looking at the Now Playing area right now there's plenty of space available. The Listerner, No Repeats, etc. boxes almost always take up more horizontal space than the artist/album line, leaving plenty of space to the left or right of that information.
My initial thought was that we could easily include a heart icon next to the stars/rating icons. This wouldn't really impact the layout in any significant way.
However, I later thought that it might also be fun for the community to know who lists the current track as a favorite. This would of course take up more space and be harder to implement. You would probably only be able to include one or two (randomly selected?) names, since many popular tracks are probably often favorites.
As usual, another half baked idea that I'll leave in the hands of the decision makers.

Is it possible, when you request from the favorites lists, to delete the windows on the right (with the albums and the characteristics), because it considerably reduce the next window in which you can write a message? _________________ There is no problem that can't be solve without any solution |

I noticed when I make a request from the Favorites window, it opens the next page in the cell you're already in instead of refreshing whole page... _________________ I do not wake up with thoughts of control and rebellion, but thoughts of purpose and righteousness and the empowerment to fulfill those convictions that define me. |

Isn't it the same problem that platy had reported?
I had thought I had resolved it
I'm testing this here at home and can't reproduce the behavior anymore.
Can someone send me a print-screen? _________________ I think I think, therefore I think I am. (Ambrose Bierce) |

Hey, pesa, here's a thought. I know that the Top 100 page is already chock-full of useless but ever-so-interesting data. (I'm not being sarcastic. I check it often.) Could we put up a panel for the albums and tracks that most often show up in people's favorites? We could keep it anonymous (no need to list whose favorites they are) and include the private favorite lists, if the programming allows. _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?
