For MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS, Richard Rodney Bennett could have arranged a 1930's pastiche score and left it at that. Instead, he created an entirely original score, by turns melodious and atonal, to enhance the classic murder mystery on screen. The Overture certainly does, to quote Bennett himself, "give one the sense of excitement and anticipation that one felt in the theatre, as a child, before the curtain went up," while the main theme of "The Orient Express" combines a joyous waltz with an ominous woodwind motif that tells of dark deeds to come.

Tracklisitng:
1. Overture and Kidnapping
2. Stamboul Ferry
3. Orient Express (this is the best one, but the nice bits are missing from the audio samples - can anyone find another source?)
4. Body/Remembering Daisy
5. Entr'acte
6. Princess Dragomiroff
7. Knife
8. Prelude to Murder
9. Murder
10. Finale

Thanks for watching.

Why not! Samples sounded nice. I think that this wouldn't be out of place in the SST playlist. So, I voted yes.

from me unfortunately "No" this time...

I think that this album sounds quite boring... (only the last track seems to be interesting in my opinion) Sorry

We have a 11 minute suite from Orient Express in the Richard Rodney Bennett compilation.

You'll want to decide if we need the whole score.
