motion to re-add the Fantasia score to SST enters the forum.
ive been told we're waiting on a better quality CD but has there even been one? besides i was told this like 2 years ago and no one seems to care. having a fantasia in the interim is better than having none, imo. when we get another one let's just replace it instead of making everyone go without.
as for the "is this a soundtrack or a classical album" discussion i have to point out that we still have plenty of classical tracks here, some unwittingly and some by request. consider this my request.
the compositions evoke the images in the film that have defined many people's childhoods and i dont see why we cant include it here. most of the pieces have been edited to fit the images and animation and have not been included in full "classical" form.
we can break up the bigger tracks if anyone starts whining, but it best evokes the film in long format.

This is THE PENULTIMATE SOUNDTRACK ALBUM. The movie was CREATED for THIS MUSIC. If any album MUST be on SST, it is Fantasia. Otherwise, something is rotten in Denmark. |

I REALLY would like that and the Fantasia 2000 re added. I made a little fuss for it way back when it was removed with the other classical music, but I always thought IMHO it should be here.

It was removed mostly because the painful sound quality.

As far as I know it was removed in the period of the start of adagio.fm. But I think it was removed because of poor quality. It is not available on adagio. (there are other verisons of them on other albums)
I personally would like to see it added here. It is in the spirit like Top Gun, when I hear that music I associate it with Fantaasia. But I really want good quality music.
So this is what i think: add it now and when there is a better new release, upgrade it.

Hmmm, this is a tough one... I'd like to have it here but with the better sound quality if possible.
Should we have a separate poll for Fantasia 2000? It's got some really great tracks, too! And that movie is really underrated IMHO. |
