Buy at ROLF WILHELM 4: DOKTOR FAUSTUS / TONIO KROGER / RO...

The other one of two Rolf Wilhelm CDs that are still available on SAE (more are still available in germany) features his music for literacy adaptations. Just as the Loriot album, this one comes has highly recommended, so check the sound files on SAE and decide if you want it to be a a part of SST's database.

Well I can't say the first sample did much for me since it sounds like opera LOL......I would be in favor of having instrumental tracks added, but not having the operatic tracks added.

Thanks for the link to extra samples again! Sounds like Doktor Faustus is an opera or musical, and thus to remain consistent I would be against the inclusion of those tracks, but I think the rest sounds very compelling and I would be curious to hear more still! Smile

I voted maybe.

It sounds nice but in my opinion it fits more on Adagio.fm

Or maybe some here and some on adagio.

Though you have to consider that this is still original music composed for film and the composer decides what sound is appropriate for the film. If it is an operatic sound, then i don't see how it disqualifies a score for being added to a film music database. For example, i have also seen the soundtrack for phantom of the opera in the database and even though this was a film adaptation of the musical, its still a musical and technically the same would apply, it would fit more to a musical radio channel. Just my two cents on the genre issue Wink

I voted yes. I think this album has some really nice music on it. The operatic tracks are fine for me, and the rest sounded very good. I'm always happy to discover 'new' composers I'm not so familiar with.

the score to philadelphia has an opera selection that is integral to the movie and the score. I myself feel if it is something like this it should be included here...I am unsure however if we have removed that selection over to adagio. Has SST as a station gone exclusively to music written orginally as movie score? I am not opposed to this at all by the way.. just unsure what the current direction is.

hope all are well Smile
