Hello,
I've been looking for the name of this theme since many months ago. I recorded it from the streaming of the NYC Marathon and the audio quality is not good. I don't know if it's a theme from a soundtrack or what. Maybe someone knows its title?

I agree with GalFin.
The chances are good it's by John Williams. He has composed many of NBC and NBC Sports themes over the years (NBC Nightly News, Olympics, recently Sunday Night Football, etc.) The chord progression reminds me of part of his Olympic themes, but of course, another composer could have mimicked his style. So it's probably not from a soundtrack, but rather composed specifically for an NBC sports event.
A quick Google search also brought up these composers who have done music for the NBC broadcast of the NYC marathon: Bob Sakayama and Wayne Sharpe. |
