I went to click on Your Posts, but accidentally selected Posts Since Last Visit instead. I selected Your Posts and got an error message "You cannot make another search so soon after your last; please try again in a short while."
I waited a couple of minutes and then tried again and Your Posts was fine, but I am just curious about the error message. Is there really a time limit on the queries? Is it just a "busy signal" for when the query fails?
Anybody know? |

As far as I know this is really a time limit (or rate limit as it's sometimes called). It basically protects the server from getting too busy with search requests, not specifically just from users of the site but also people who want to do evil and make the site unavailable. Both the "your posts" and "posts since last visit" links are actually searches, so the time limit applies to those.

Stupid evil people! I blame them for the fact that I have to take off my shoes at the airport. That I have to sign poolside towels out and in on a cruise ship. And now they make muckery of my searching on SST.

The name of the feature is suggestive: Flood Control.
 I had the same thought that of Dragonel many times (about warp speed).
