Well done, Bir! Very Happy
I didn't expect that someone can remember old Australian poetic mysterious drama. However the key word was in the filename Wink

thx martino Smile
Actually, I saw this movie a couple of times and therefore thought I'd remember the scene.

I did not check the filename Razz
But I'd try to avoid having the title or parts of it in the filename, otherwise: where is the fun in guessing? Wink

I try to put a new pic in as soon as possible, but if someone else has one ready, please feel free to post it!

After my last photo I would expect another Peter Weir's movie, i.e. Witness. But I have a feeling I am wrong. Any hint?

No, it's not "Witness".

This US-movie was made in 2001. The main part of the movie takes place in the very east of Canada. The person on the picture won 1 academy award and was nominated 6 more times (not for this movie!).
Hope this is of some help?!

Well ...

It is a funny medieval fairy tale (not suitable for children).
The movie was directed by American, who moved to UK and joined few Englishmen. They created one of the best known comedy group.
The movie is associated with these world famous comedians, although half of them are missing in the cast.

Still difficult to guess? Shocked
The movie begins with a bizarre monologue which is considered one of the greatest nonsense poems written in English. It has a connection to Alice in Wonderland. The title of the poem is also the title of the movie.

Thanks martino, your hints have been great. Smile
I knew at once that the
martino wrote:

must be Terry Gilliam
and that
martino wrote:

can only be Monty Python.
Now, I wasn't sure whether
martino wrote:

was "Time Bandits" or "Jabberwocky" for I haven't seen either of them.

But then there was your last hint:
martino wrote:
The movie begins with a bizarre monologue which is considered one of the greatest nonsense poems written in English. It has a connection to Alice in Wonderland. The title of the poem is also the title of the movie.

So if I may quote:

Jabberwocky - By Lewis Carroll:

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

“Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!”

He took his vorpal sword in hand;
Long time the manxome foe he sought—
So rested he by the Tumtum tree
And stood awhile in thought.

And, as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! And through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

“And hast thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!”
He chortled in his joy.

’Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

Erm, erm, to cut a long story short:
My guess is:

Idea "JABBERWOCKY" Very Happy
