If you haven't noticed already, the forum now supports Avatars. Avatars are the little images that represent you in the forum. ![[Cool]](cool.gif)

You can choose one of the pre-made Avatars or use a custom one. The only requirements are the size must be 48x48 in .gif .jpg .png format.

Hello. I'm new to this forum, and I was hoping someone could offer some assistance. cvb was so nice to help me earlier, but I didn't want to clog up the chat with more of my silly questions. If I want to pick an avatar other that what's listed to choose from, how do I do it? I can't seem to find a pic on a webite that is little enough. I can crop the pic on my computer, but I don't know how to link it to the site. Please help! Thanks in advance!! |

You need to have the picture stored on the Internet. If you don't have a website, let me know and I'll give you an e-mail address to send the picture to. I can store it on my site and give you the address you need.

I was searching and I found a bunch of other avatars on the net, but I can't get it to work when I try to link to them. The pics look a little larger than the ones posted on this site to choose from, perhaps that is the problem. Anyhow, thanks for you continued help! ![[Smile]](smile.gif) |

Here is a tip to some who have probs with their avatar pict.
You can use a pict that is bigger than the allowed size. It will then just get resized.
As a proof, my avatar pict is actually the same as in my profile. I just gave the same link and it showed fine, the server just resized it so it would fit.

It won't look quite as good though. If you resize it in Photoshop, for example, the picture will be filtered so that you don't get as bad aliasing artifacts. If you're picky, that is... |
