I would like to know what do you think about appear a list of artists that are in queue, close to the chat, to facilite the requests.
Other possibility is to appear the inscription "artist in queue" close to artist name in a ocasional search. |

Hi Paulosilverira, welcome to the forums.
We are not allowed to announce the artist in the queue per RIAA rules.

You could always find out by trying to request something and it would say "artist in queue". That's usually how I find out. Then I got to hope I catch a break if I want to request something by that artist. :p |

Sigh
That's really a nonsensical rule from RIAA. I mean, I don't understand how not publish the names on a queue can protect the artists of their intellectual rights..?
Wouldn't these artists be glad to see their names matching to the music they composed instead of not showing their names? |

Publishing the artists names = GOOD
Publishing the artists names before the track plays (so you could perhaps be here in time to hear your artist, or, on the other hand USE THIS INFORMATION TO STEAL THEIR MUSIC (AND POSSIBLY HARM PUPPIES)!) = BAD

I have an idea: publishing the names randomed on a space close to the chat. Only to check if the artist is in queue. I don't understand the RIAA perspective, but I think isn't prejudice. |

That is a good idea, paulosilveria. I'm not sure what the official RIAA position is, but if that doesn't violate the spirit that might be OK. That's something that JERIC would have to decide.

it is what it is but i dont see why john powell can't be credit in the playlist for his tracks. it's one rule for soundtracks and one rule for pop music. i dont see bbc radio 1 not crediting lady gaga for her song on their playlist. |

Is the playlist available before the track plays? Many radio stations in the US have their playlists online, but the tracks only appear as they're playing (so as to foil the attempts of that highly organized cartel of people who rip tracks by waiting for them to randomly play on some site/station somewhere).

Y'know what I find works, sometimes, for telling me if an artist is in the queue? My favorites list. That'll tell me at a glance if, say, Elfman has been requested by someone else.
Sometimes I use the random track button not for the track itself, but because I know it'll give me an available artist. So I click the button, think to myself, "Oh, sweet, I can request Shirley Walker!" and then go do that. That doesn't solve the problem here, of course, but hey, games people play. _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

Clever idea! Didn't think of that...
For me it's not really a problem if I don't see immediately which artists are in the queue. I'll find out and that is that. |
