Just wanted to share my opinion about Recent Forum Activity Module.
That's merely my personal (biased) point of view of course, but I don't like new "rolling" format of Recent Forum Activity Module.
I preferred having a possibility to scroll the list up and down using a pace and direction of my own choice. I had all the time I needed to really get the info from that module.
Now everything goes a bit too fast for me (biased opinion again of course) and when I'm not quick enough I have to wait (sometimes quite long) to see desired part of the text again.
Edit: Let me add, that I know I can stop rolling effect hovering over the text but what I mean is I can't drag back the part of text that I've just missed. Enabling kind of " hover over and drag back" option would also make me happier of course.
BTW: If the "rolling" version of Recent Forum Activity Module is to stay, my suggestion would be to consider rolling it in opposite direction (I think it would be good to see the posts rolling from older posts to the new ones and not from newest to the oldest. I think it would be more clear and logic way of watching it). _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

When this was implemented the other day, a few people in chat as well noted that the scrolling didnt allow one to read through what they wanted if they missed it....just thought _________________ The right song can turn an emperor into a laughing stock, can bring down dynasties. When I first saw the scrolling text I thought my eyes and mind were playing tricks on me.
I must say that I don't really like this moving text thing. I think the idea behind it is OK but how it actually works... It goes a bit too fast for me (with this font size) and it kind of hurts my eyes to watch it. (I have a tendency to get migraines so generally I don't like animations and flashing things on web pages.)
I can live with it because I can always skip it and just check the forum page directly, but I'd prefer the old stationary one, or at least a slower pace. Although I'm critical about this, I'd like to emphasize that I think JERIC, pesa and other admins and developers are generally doing an excellent job on the SST web pages! And I do appreciate it! |

I'm not too fond of self-scrolling anythings, but since I never look at that feature it doesn't disturb me... much... _________________ "Welcome to the paranoia club; cheapest fees in the universe and membership lasts forever."
