LA LA LAND RECORDS, Wonder Woman
Buy at La-La-Land Records
I recently purchased this soundtrack, and I think it would make a great addition to the SST library. Let me tell you why.
To be a bean counter about it, SST already owns the other DCU Animated Movies soundtracks from La-La-Land records, such as Justice League: New Frontier and Batman: Gotham Knight. We know that the label does beautifully by its releases, and that the scores themselves are quality work. It took forever (well, 14 months) for this score to see the light of day, but it's worth it.
I have been listening to the score for the past few days, and it is truly wonderful. Drake decided that instead of a campy, guitar-driven sound, he was going to score Wonder Woman as if it were "a 200 million dollar summer blockbuster!" As such, the music is suitably epic, with the sound of a full orchestra and voices. There are some lovely themes, and the theme for Wonder Woman, heard at the end of "The Battle/Origins" and in the "End Titles" is really good.
What I find most amazing is that this score was written, arranged, and produced by Drake completely on a computer, due to budget and time restrictions. Sure, there are some places where the samples are showing, but in the action music, the illusion is incredible.
The La-La-Land page has some samples, and if you go to the movie's website you can hear the score play in the background, and watch some videos with score in them. The album was available on iTunes and Amazon for download, but for some reason, I can't find them now! Dunno why.
I'd be willing to kick in some money for this, if that helps. The ST has a limited edition of 1200, so if we want it, we may need to move fast. |

The movie was released in Spring 2009. I don't know how available these DVDs are in Germany, but I recommend it, if you can get your hands on it. iTunes in Germany may or may not be able to get you a rental.
The score was only released a few months ago. Don't know why. _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

Just my 2 cents, but couldn't we put LadyInque as a donator for this score? _________________ There is no problem that can't be solve without any solution |

Yes, might we? I feel like I'm the one who got it here, even if I didn't mail in a physical CD. |
Done. Check the update on the home page.
