I have from time to time posted a link in the chat to a postcard I received from Miklos Rozsa from his summer villa in Italy in 1972. It was in response to a fan letter I sent him which stated that his scores for Ben-Hur and El Cid were among the most influential music of my life. I was astonished to get a reply . . . and the card is worth looking at for its classic appearance and to see Mr. Rozsa's handwriting. Here is what the card says: "Thank you for your very kind letter Mr. Ormsby. It reached me in Italy where I am spending my summers. I am glad that you like my music. It is always good to know to be appreciated. Maybe it will interest you to know that there is an M.R.
