SONY MASTERWORKS RELEASES THE SOUNDTRACK
OF THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN
ORIGINAL SCORE BY JOHN WILLIAMS
Soundtrack Recording Available December 13, 2011
Sony Masterworks announces the release of the soundtrack recording of The Adventures of Tintin on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. The original music for the film is created by the renowned American composer John Williams. The Adventures of Tintin opens nationwide in theaters on December 21, 2011.
From Oscar® winning director Steven Spielberg and Oscar® winning producer Peter Jackson, two of today’s most visionary storytellers, comes a 3D motion picture event: an epic, globe-hopping quest that spans hidden mysteries, menacing criminals and ancient secrets -- and brings to dazzling life the classic escapades that have enthralled generation after generation with their one-of-a-kind mix of action and humor in The Adventures of Tintin.
Based on the internationally beloved and irrepressible characters created by Hergé, the story follows the unquenchably curious young reporter Tintin (Jamie Bell) and his fiercely loyal dog Snowy as they discover a model ship carrying an explosive secret.
Drawn into a centuries-old mystery, Tintin finds himself in the sightlines of Ivan Ivanovitch Sakharine (Daniel Craig), a diabolical villain who believes Tintin has stolen a priceless treasure tied to dastardly pirate named Red Rackham. But with the help of his dog Snowy, the salty, cantankerous Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis) and the bumbling detectives Thompson & Thomson (Simon Pegg and Nick Frost), Tintin will travel half the world, outwitting and outrunning his enemies in a breathless chase to find the final resting place of The Unicorn, a shipwreck that may hold the key to vast fortune . . . and a ancient curse.
Spielberg is joined by his Oscar®-winning collaborators, editor Michael Kahn, A.C.E. and legendary composer John Williams. One of the most popular and successful American orchestral composers of the modern age, John Williams is the winner of five Academy Awards, 17 Grammys, three Golden Globes and two Emmys. Best known for his film scores and ceremonial music, Williams is also a noted composer of concert works and a renowned conductor.
Williams’ scores for Steven Spielberg’s Jaws, E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial, Schindler's List, as well as the Indiana Jones series, have won him multiple awards and produced best-selling recordings, and his scores for the original Star Wars trilogy transformed the landscape of Hollywood film music and became icons of American culture.
With his soundtrack for The Adventures of Tintin Williams is returning to the film industry after a three-year break. The score was conducted by the composer himself and recorded in Los Angeles, with the exception of a song sung by the leading American soprano Renée Fleming, which was recorded in New York with a seventy-piece orchestra.

I own this album (European release was earlier) for a few weeks now. As I already posted in the "Which movie did you saw" the soundtrack did not really impress me as standalone score. In the movie it fits perfectly. But to have it here is always nice. Maybe to listen to a track is nicer than listen to the complete album at once. _________________ That's the beauty of music. So we have to wait for the US release date to see it here, right? |

not necessarily but in this case Angel order it already so we have to wait for that copy that is received.
In the past I donated albums that were already released in Europe, but not in the USA. It was here earlier than the US release. _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)
