FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
MOVIESCORE MEDIA HAS A DOGGONE GOOD TIME
WITH THE MONSTER MUTT SOUNDTRACK
Soundtrack Features Music by 4-Time Grammy Award® Nominee Chris Walden
(February 7, 2011- New York, NY) – Moviescore Media (www.moviescoremedia.com) will release a giant of a recording on February 8th with Monster Mutt -- Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. The soundtrack features original music by 4-time Grammy Award® Nominee Chris Walden (Alien Siege, arranger for TV’s American Idol) and was recorded by the West Australian Philharmonic Orchestra.
Four-time Grammy nominated German composer/arranger/conductor Chris Walden has scored more than 40 feature and TV films, and has written arrangements for artists including Christina Aguilera, Michael Bolton, Faith Hill, Aretha Franklin, David Foster, Paul Anka, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Christopher Cross, and orchestras like the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Boston Pops, and many more. He has orchestrated for Barbra Streisand, Diana Krall, and Natalie Cole.
His recent credits include TV movies Alien Siege, Crimson Force, Gene Wilder's The Lady in Question, and the CBS mini-series Blonde. Since 2007 Walden has been a principal arranger for American Idol and now also serves as principal arranger for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. He currently serves as governor on the Los Angeles Chapter Board of the Recording Academy and he is a board member of ASMAC (American Society of Music Arrangers and Composers).
It’s Beethoven meets Honey I Blew Up The Kids, in this heartwarming comedy adventure for the whole family. Max the Dog is kidnapped by evil scientists, but when Max escapes all seems normal until, overnight, he transforms from his cute collie self into the gigantic Monster Mutt! He’s just as lovable as ever, there’s just more of him to love… a lot more! Now it’s a race against time for Ashley and Zack – with the help of bumbling scientist Dr. Lloyd – to elude the evil Sirus and his henchwoman Natalya and find a cure for their giant furry friend before it’s too late.
Monster Mutt’s music supervisor Brad Gilderman introduced Walden to the film’s director Todd Tucker. Gilderman and Walden have worked together for several years on American Idol. “The film is about a dog that turns into a monster, but by no means is this a horror film. The director Todd Tucker did not want to portray the monster as scary,” described Walden. “With my music I focused on the emotions of the two kids, all the funny moments of the adults, and the playful action and the chaos that is caused by the monster.”
To achieve this, Tucker and Walden agreed that this should be scored using a full orchestra. “I had recorded with the West Australian Philharmonic is Perth a few times before,” Walden continued, “and I felt for this score they would be a perfect fit.”
Green Pictures presents Monster Mutt, currently available on DVD in the United States. Monster Mutt – Original Motion Picture Soundtrack from Moviescore Media will be available digitally and CD on February 8, 2011.
