It was illegal then and is now. Giving things away doesn't free you from copyright violations. The thing is, you're making and distributing a copy of something you don't own. And Germany is a member of the Bern convention, so I'm fairly sure the law applies there, too. In any case, YouTube doesn't count as fair use, even if everyone posts that notice about how they're not making money. That's not really the point.
Is there any legal way of obtaining the video? Might it be released on DVD from the copyright holder? Or even streamed from the station's website? |

Some extra info: for a couple of days the LIVE Radiobroadcast of the concert "Hollywood in Vienna" is on the site of Austrian Radio Ör1.
There is a link on the facebookpage from SST.

If you arrived at that site, push the little player button next to the text: "Aus dem Konzertsaal"
It's the full concert, with German narration. 2 hours but worth it.
And if you want vision with it, open up the gallery and watch the photos.

It's not around the April 14th date mentioned, but Wolf Trap is having the National Symphony Orchestra's "Music of John Williams" night on Saturday, July 7th. Conducted by Steven Reineke. I'll post details when I get them. The night before is "Broadway ROCKS!" also by the NSO.

info can be found here at movie in concert website (I will ask filmflip or soundtracktreasury to edite the date, since it says July 8th. When you click on the details & tickets you will see the right date)
This concert is just before the Tenerife Gathering. So the Music of John Williams concert will not be part the official SST Meet & Greet World Tour. Of course we encourage you to organize a nice SST meetinng of course.

I can now indeed confirm that the date for the EaSST Coast Gathering will be the weekend of April, 14-15
Place to be: New York, NY
Program is yet to be concluded but the concert of filmmusic in Carnegie Hall (April,13) will be start of the program.
The rest will depend largely on the number of participants but I'm in talks for having a miniconcert for SST-members only and/or a party with filmmusicsongs (April,14) and a guest at the meet & greet. (Apr.,14 & 15)
Registration will be obligatory before March,15
As my emailadress is restored again, registration is open, but you can use the forum to announce your being there too.
Commemorative T-shirts are being thought over but will be on prepaid order only.

Had a great evening yesterday, with Dutchbat, girlfriend and Chandler here in Oslo. I don't know if it qualifies as a true 'event' in this whole meet and greet thing, but I'd like to think so. |
