|
This one came to my mind today June 2, the Day of the Republic in Italy, which is an official celebration. I launched the idea of a theme day with music written by Italian composers or sung in Italian, or made for Italian movies (or anything else related to the country). Molossus helped me coming up with the "Italian composers' day", which is running right now in the queue.
Italy has a great story of fantastic composers (Rota, Morricone, Piovani just to name a few), so how about making an official Theme day of it? It could be made of course for other countries like France, the UK, Poland, Germany, Japan and so on, in the respective celebration days... It's already done for July 4th, isn't it?
Waiting for your comment now And if you want, you can join in today with the unofficial theme by requesting tracks somehow related to Italy.
PS: for a quick list of Italian composers (although many still missing) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Italian_film_score_composers

And as HZFC member, I'm also expecting German Composers' Theme Day soon _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

There aren't many official theme days at SST, but unofficial theme days are plentiful and encouraged. Don't feel that you've failed if it's not declared an official theme day, but instead continue to share your passion for music and the great film music of Italy.
