OK, I'm new to this game so I hope this isn't too confusing....
This movie stars 2 leading men, one with an Oscar win and one with 2 nominations (although neither for this movie). The director has been nominated for 4 Best Directing Oscars, but never won until receiving an honorary Oscar. One of his signatures is shooting in New York. The title is the second half of an Irish saying.

I first thought of Woody Allen as the director, but that's not him (he won one Oscar) and then I thought of Kubrick but it doesn't fit with the NYC hint.

I'm an actor who started his career at the age of 12 and I received a special prize for my perfomance in my third movie (where I was the leading role).
I wasn't very famous, though I never stopped acting in lots of movies as leading role, until I played in a blockbuster franchise.

Valkyrie, Last Samurai, a few good men, Top gun, Taps, born on the 4th of July .....
but I'm not so sure about the ones with a mask...
