The last time we got a lot of people, they stayed at Magic Castle which is a bit of a walk from the bowl. I don't think it was much more than the Best Western but might want to look into it.
Also, I only set aside 10 tickets for David Newman so if you're coming for the whole weekend and were interested in going to that, let me know AESOP.
Best Western can give us a group discount if we book 10 rooms. You'd be looking at $139 a night. From this group now, it looks like 4 rooms. |
Now 139 will work.

Gahhhh! I don't where I'll be in life (geographically, financially, mentally, whatever) at the time, but I very much want to go! How late can we speak up for a ticket, soc? I would likely not object to splitting a room with another girl, if I can go. |

Sounds good Gert, the absolute latest I need to know would probably be around May when my final payment is due.

I haven't reserved the hotel rooms yet because I don't think we come close to 10. I think we'd be at 5-6 now. Even if I reserved 10, I'm sure they'd keep the deposit if I cancel. |

There maybe also the problem that not everybody wants to stay the same amount of nights. For instance I (and probably the ones I will going to do a trip afterwards) want to arrive on Thursday (so we can see the rehearsal on friday morning if it is public again) and maybe leave on Tuesday or even Wednesday.
But maybe we can arrange something for the extended days if we have for certain 10 rooms.

Gert, if you do end up going I would share a room with you for whatever nights you will be there I will be there from Friday Aug. 31-Tuesday, Sept. 4. If we split a room that will drive costs down!

Socr8s, my interested status may be converted into 'coming'. So if you can secure tickets for both concerts for me. Siri will plan my hotel. I will be flying in and out of LA from the Netherlands for it maybe even arriving as late as Saturday and leaving monday again.
If work or other SST-things should force me to cancel I still will pay you the tickets.
Furthermore there may be a good opportunity to have a meet and greet with composer Richard Gibbs. If anyone is interested in meeting Richard I could invite him to join us for dinner. (or any other available composer from the LA-area)

Awesome Dutch! Too early to plan for any outings. If people are only coming in for the weekend, Saturday and Sunday are booked, as far as dinner goes. If we get the picnic table area, that'd be a good place.. Otherwise, might try for a Friday dinner again. |

I know there are also some MainTitles.Net members planning / thinking of going to the JW concert. I will check there if they want again a combined meet with the picnic or something. So we can make the group bigger and maybe more interesting for one or more composers to meet us.
