The Tenerife Film Music Festival (FIMUCITÉ) closed its 6th edition, on Saturday, July 14, having received the applause of the more than 5,000 people who attended its week full of activities and concerts, held in the most important cultural venues in Santa Cruz and Arona, particularly the Night Closing Gala at Auditorio de Tenerife "Adán Martín", which made Tenerife become the unique authorized venue to celebrate the Universal Pictures centennial. The concert was completely sold out, being an unforgettable evening that has made the social networks seethe with expressions such as “astonishing” and “electrifying”, and where the audience has highlighted, above all, the magnificent performance of the Tenerife Symphony Orchestra (OST), conducted by composer and director of FIMUCITÉ, Diego Navarro.

Faithful to its commitment to quality, this year's Closing Gala had again the participation of soloists such as Esther Alfonso Da Costa, who amazed the audience with her vocal skills, performing the so well known piece “Fried Green Tomatoes”. The concert also recovered some of the most known soundtracks of the legendary American studios, including horror classics like “Dracula” or “Frankenstein”, as well as other more recent and popular ones like "Back to the Future" or "Conan the Barbarian".

If Diego Navarro conducted alone this great symphonic concert, the previous one, on Friday, July 13, was mainly under the baton of the conductor and orchestrator Pete Anthony, having reached an identical success. In this case, the honoree composer was the celebrated James Newton Howard, and in both concerts, FIMUCITÉ enhanced the use of footage of the films of the repertoire, synchronized with the music live.

The staunch admirers of the festival enjoyed also the rest of the staged concerts of this unavoidable appointment with film music, like those at Guimerá Theatre in Santa Cruz, also completely sold out, or the performance, in the opening session, of the famous Spanish band Presuntos Implicados. A place was reserved as well for those interested in the process of creation of a film score, who could converse with specialists such as Andy Hill, from Berklee School of Music, or Iván Vivas, among others, thanks to a special workshop, in collaboration with this private college of music (the number one in the world), on July 12 and 13. This workshop had almost one hundred students registered.

FIMUCITÉ has already announced the dates of its seventh edition: July 8 to 13, 2013.

I propose to have all photos in this Fimucite-PR thread as well, as pics say more than words.
Albeit that I absolutely subscribe to all that stands in this article.

It was as we had promised: Fun, Sun and Filmmusic during SST's 4th. European Gathering.
