Soundtrack
2012
1963 suspense/thriller starring Cary Grant & Audrey Hepburn, directed by Stanley Donen, music by Henry Mancini. Main title theme (by Mancini & Johnny Mercer) was Oscar nominated for best original song.
Original soundtrack on vinyl LP and later on CD was limited (see here) or otherwise just on compilation/split albums (as already seen in the db, here or here), but this is a new 2012 release by Intrada, labeled on Amazon as complete score. Unfortunately no audio samples yet available as of this posting.
** EDIT to add: there are a few (though not all) tracks available in samples directly on Intrada's website. I tried to add these above but the form doesn't seem to recognize the URL as valid, so link for samples is instead here:
http://store.intrada.com/s.nl/it.A/id.7576/.f
Audio quality seems pretty good!

More Mancini,
After the Tenerife Mancini-concert this would be a good thing to add just for recollection purposes. _________________

I also voted yes because imho, every single one of
Mancini's scores should be here. I knew his
stuff from when he scored the Peter Gunn
b&w TV show - back in the dinosaur days.
Yay for HMFC! I will be happy to contribute
$ to get this & any other HM's. _________________ "I like what I hear as a resulting combination of these two strands... something of a combination of familiarity and, for lack of a better word, strangeness." -Alex North |
