I know at least two SSTers would like to go to Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.

@Molossus: Andycutu and I would really like to visit Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, as it is a must-see and I don't know if we'll ever have another opportunity.
But for us, it would be on Saturday or Sunday afternoon, as we arrive Saturday morning. I'll have a look at the opening times and how to get there. They may be an organized trip by bus from Cracow.
@ tee-shitrs, great idea. Andycutu needs Small and I Medium.

Dutchbat, I will arrive on Wednesday as well by car. If possible please make a reservation for me from wednesday untill monday (departure) and let the hotel know I want to use a parking spot.

@ola: Hehe, yep she'll be in her 6th month. Her belly is getting quite round now, especially since the baby is growing faster than usual... Maybe because daddy's 1.92m tall

FMF published the dates of official meetings with composers during the festival:
- Alberto Iglesias (Friday, Sept. 27th, 12.00)
- Don Davis (Friday, Sept. 27th, 16.30)
- Abel Korzeniowski (Sunday, Sept. 29, 12.00)
Venue for all meetings above is Centrum Festiwalowe (Festival Centre) at Małopolski Ogród Sztuki - 12 Rajska Street).
Workshops (open for the audience) are also planned. As part of FMF Master Classes for Young Composers we will be able to attend at:
- Filmowe Laboratorium Dźwięku (Film Laboratory of Sound) hosted by Marek Chołoniewski, Piotr Bikont, Włodzimierz Kiniorski and Krzysztof Knittel (Saturday, Sept. 28th, godz. 10.00, Akademia Muzyczna),
– Live Composing Master Class: Trevor Morris on Immortals - hosted by Trevor Morris (Sunday, Sept. 29th, 14.00).

Hotel is booked. SST will take up its HQ again at Aparthotel Astor.
These are the regular prices:
room for 1 person - 199zł
double room - 249 zł
apartment for 3 person - 399zł
But as we are frequent visitors and through throwing in a little politics I got a
15% discount and breakfast included on the room.
For the period booked the total price per room will be:
Single room: 328,30 Zloty (Scorefreak Wo-Fri)
3p Room: 1995 Zl. (Wo-Mon) (Do Nath. and Andycutu need a 3p room now ?
Double room: 3 nights (Fri - Mon) 634,95 Zl
2 nights (Sa-Mon) 423,30 Zl
5 nights (Wed - Mon) 1058,25 Zl.
For the booking I need the full name from Nathaniel and Leina to pass on to the hotel and the time you think to arrive.

I've been on holidays lately (causing additional delay), but today, at last, I'm able to nearly bath in all FMF tickets I got from Kraków
I will send PM to everyone (and SMS to some of you) I've got on my list to remind that tickets are secured.
I will also ask a question if people want to get SST t-shirt with festival pass or they want the ticket only.

The baby's still very small (though just started kicking pretty hard Andycutu's belly) so we'll keep it hidden and try to sneak it for free at the concert. I count on everybody's discretion

Wow cool I didn't know we have another pregnant SSTler on board in Krakow My friend mjunic who's coming along with me will be at the dusk of her 8th month by then  ! Moving longer distances will become a problem I sense 
We are the two interested people to visit Auschwitz-Birkenau btw. I have been twice, but mjunic hasnt and as nathanel said - who knows when there's another chance? It's really worth visiting, but be prepared to walk long distances (maybe I'll have to carry mjunic...)
Let us know wether you found some transportation nathanel, or maybe we share a taxi. |
