Sorry I have not reported of late.
Of course, I would would like to tell
you of something different but there
is nothing for me to tell.
I have 8 treatments left and while I
can look forward to the end, I am
feeling as worn down. It is something
that was expected. No surprises. It
is cumulative and also continues to
suppress any recovery in the muscle
that was cut. Again, this was an
expected thing. There is more of
the stiffening that they talked of
and well, there it is. It seems likely
that I will have physical therapy to
do afterwards. There will be the
customary follow-ups etc.
I will persist to the end and let you
know how it goes.
Just eight more.
Regards,

Best, and may the recovery process see you ever more strong and healthy than you imagined.

Well, today was my last day of
the elected radiation therapy.
It was easy: the process, but it
was so much harder saying
goodbye to the team that had
worked together to help me
through it all.
It's funny how life takes you
places that you do want to go
and there, you find yourself
glad that you went.
They applauded as I exited the
room and I fell into tears. I
had no words. I hugged and
cried with each one of them.
Now, the next chapter begins
and here is the view. I am to
see the surgeon again and he
will be looking at the wound
and chat with me about things.
We will wait 6-weeks and do
another MRI and C-Scan to
look and see. There will likely
be physical therapy down the
road. I think we'll be able to
see after this period of healing.
The muscle that was cut will
finally be getting its chance to
truly regenerate and recover.
Slowly but surely we will be
steering the ship north again.
I will be in touch. Thanks for
all the support.
Love,

It is good the radiation-therapy has ended. Now it's time to get better and stronger every day. I see the progress, after therapy, with my wife. So keep it up.
She needs physical therapy too, so it's obvious you will need it. But that's a good thing!! But take your time......

Well, saw surgeon and he basically
said that the wound looked great
but that we needed to see the first
post-radiation scans in 4-weeks.
I am basically as good as my scans.
I felt a lot of activity in the wound
area and especially the first 1.5
weeks post-radiation. The fact is
that I am going to feel lots of things
in the area. It still looks like I was
bitten by a shark and it will be like
that for a year or so, when it fills
in according to the surgeon.
I can walk normally. I can play
the drums for 20 or so minutes.
I can do most things for that time.
The muscle is slowly getting
stronger.
I will update you again when I have
something to report. Thanks for
all of your thoughts and prayers.
Love,

Wow! I had no idea that you have been going through this Pete! When we have chatted a few times this year - I truly had no idea! You are the light and beacon of love, humor, and compassion! Keep hanging in there! I read the entire thread and I want to join the others in giving you my heartfelt prayers, and positive vibes. I know that you are an amazing person and you will beat this! I too have been going through some difficult times - but they pale in comparison to yours. Much, much love and hugz to you and your entire family!
I'm so glad that you found an excellent surgeon and medical team. That brought tears to my eyes!
We will have to meet again at a meet-up or your family and mine and celebrate your fabulous recovery and kicking cancer's *ss! <3 (If you would like me too - I'll wear the red dress!) *coughs* after I lose some of this extra winter weight! lol!
Lots of love,

Well, today I went in for the
results of last Friday's MRI-scan
and they are in.
All clear.
I had not sent out any updates
as I just didn't have the evidence
that would back up how good I
was feeling. Well, now I have
the first scan behind me. There
will be others every 6 months as
per the routine and for a couple
of years. I am supplementing
with key minerals and vitamins
and increasing my exercise.
I will not stop.
Again, thanks for your support
and I will be in touch.
Love,
