I think that the Blues Brothers soundtrack would be a nice addition to SST. The nice, melodic, orchestrated stuff is nice, but sometimes you want a lil' blues, a lil toe tappin music, ya know. Who's with me?

here is the amazon link
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000002J5K/qid=1138634000/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/102-3040239-6382512?s=music&v=glance&n=5174

Great track list.
1. She Caught The Katy - Jake
2. Peter Gunn Theme - Jake
3. Gimme Some Lovin' - Jake
4. Shake A Tail Feather - Ray Charles/Jake & Elwood
5. Everybody Needs Somebody To Love - Jake & Elwood/Patty Austin/Vivian Cherry/Ullanda McCullough
6. The Old Landmark - James Brown/Rev. James Cleveland Choir
7. Think - Aretha Franklin/Brenda Corbet/Margaret Branch/Caroline Franklin
8. Theme From Rawhide - Elwood & Jake
9. Minnie The Moocher - Cab Calloway
10. Sweet Home Chicago - Elwood & Jake
11. Jailhouse Rock - Jake

Seeing as this isn't a score but plain and simple songs that just happen to be sung by the guys in the movie, I doubt that this qualify to be added to the playlist.
Kudos on a good request post though (even without TwoPop's help Wink )

yeah, I know how to read the stickies on forums. Very Happy

I think it would be a good fun addition. I mean they work of the people on this soundtrack shouldn't be lessened than that of those who worked on Lord of the Rings ya know. work went into it and we should recognize this. I mean, toay we listened to the theme song to Big Trouble in Little China.... thats a great movie but if its music can be on here why not the BB?

But if not. Oh well. The rest of the music on the site is great.

I thought it is requested and discussed in the past before. At the moment too lazy to look. Have a lot of posts to catch up (during work..)

All artists should be recognized for their contribution to a good movie. Just because it has lyrics is not a reason to discredit the work. SST has selections from films such as Transformers (80s metal based music), Purple Rain (80s based pop), Fight club (industrial/techno alternative stuff?) and the numerous Disney and Broadway show tunes. The website is called Streaming Soundtracks. Not streaming scores. If exceptions have been made in the past for certain soundtracks, there is no reason not to include this. It was a great movie and the music played a large substantial role in the film. If we are going to be so quick to jump on people who want soundtracks removed, we should be equally tolerant of the soundtracks that listeners want to add and not be too selective. If you don’t like it hit mute. If not, enjoy.

One difference between some of the soundtracks accepted and some of the ones rejected are whether or not the music is original to the film or not. You could argue either way in this case it seems.

Please keep in mind that every album here is included based on what JERIC decides, on a case by case basis. He is generous and often listens to the voice of the masses, but the final decision rests with him alone.

I'm not much of a blues fan, so I voted no.

Yeah, it had been requested before. I didnt see that topic. I guess I didn't look hard enough. Sorry bout' that.

The arguements against it are fair enough, but there is so much other music like it on here already (not being ST's full of just scores)

Ya dont have to listen to everything, I just thought it would be a fun addition.

It has been discussed before:

http://www.streamingsoundtracks.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=343

http://www.streamingsoundtracks.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1108

It seems to be getting more support this time around. Personally I think that there isn't really a reason to specifically exclude it. There are similar soundtracks on here already and it seems there are quite a few people on here who like the music from it. I'm sure there's nobody here who likes every track on SST, so that's something else to think about.

A wonderful soundtrack with an excellent cross-section of styles, I voted yes; however, I do see the point that this site is dedicated mostly to scores and not collections of primarily vocal/produced music. I will be very happy if it is added, but not surprised if it isn't.
