I believe you do have to be logged in to use chat...
But I actually have another issue. This is a bit trival and I don't know how many other people this will effect but there are several 'page blocker softwares' out there that block things based on what the URL. For example mine will block anything that has the word 'chat' in it.
I feel like I shouldn't be asking this but if you rename your chat window to something other then chat.html (or something similar) then it should be a work around most of the blockers out there. _________________ "WHERE ARE WE GOING??? AND WHY AM I IN THIS HANDBASKET?!?!?" |

I like that what you type is instantly transferred to the window. 30 second refresh aside though:
If you have SST Main open and the Shoutbox open, they don't sync correctly all the time. Also, occasionally I'll lose messages in the Shoutbox. Closing the window and re-opening it brings them back however. |

We found that in the shout box there is a limit to the number of characters you can type in the box. It isn't a problem right now since hardly anyone reaches the limit in the 30 refresh time, LOL. But it could be a problem later I think, especially since the text box doesn't stop you from typing, (at least I don't think it does), it just cuts off in the window after it is posted.
I think it is great though! |

After spending the day in the new chat all I can say is Thank You! It is great even with the 30 sec refresh. It adds a bit of excitement to posting. _________________ I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. Would it be possible to move the "Your Website Input" to the bottom of the module?
Any thoughts? |

It took me a while to figure out the best way to use the chat, I still get mad sometimes when I press <del> key and it starts going to the previous screen and editing previous posts but in general the only thing that could be improved in the chat would be IMHO to have two frames, one for the shouts and another for the input boxes, however, it works fine for me and I can get used to it plus I don't hang around as long as I used to anymore. |

Sensei is in the process of programming an awesome chat module for SST.
If by MIRQ you meant an IRC chat I would tell you to look in the back logs for the reason. Buuuut, since this is an all new forum...
Most of us chat from work, and the 30 second delay slows down the chat enough so we can do two things at once. |

Looks great Sensei! It probably still needs some tweaking, like time-stamp and stuff. I noticed that ':-)' doesnt change in a emoticon. Do *not* change that IMHO.
Maybe you can hack my 'Cal' into that code of yours instead of 'Caliburn'? :-)
My compliments. |

Thanks also for working on mine Sensei...SST has some of the best 'webmasters' around. I am also liking the new chat setup. It was such an adventure trying to type what you wanted before it was deleted.
