a small review of the concert [i'm not good at writing, and i'm horrible at expressing feelings]
it started out as a normal concert with tracks we know and love: "czołówka" [main titles], "polonez" [i barely managed to stay sit, you just HAVE TO dance it], later the vocalist joined the choir, and she was marvellous with her haunting jewish chant.
then something amazing happened. i recognized the "miłość" [love] track, both vocalists stood up, and they started singing. there are lyrics! and how beautiful lyrics they are. the vocalists were sooooo cute together. while singing they were taking glances at each other, and small smiles, like they were shy lovers. this one was perfect.
and from this point it got better and better. more new tracks, more songs i've never heard before, more good music.
i, of course, was waiting for the "czas honoru" final track. it was MIGHTY! but there was one track that was even MIGHTIER! i only can call it a prayer track cause i recognized some prayer words sang by the choir, and it started with the vocalist singing 'kyrie eleison'. it was so good ~_~ and gained huge applause and some cheers from the audience.
the final track wasn't a final track this time. there was another song played at the end. a beautiful lullaby "kołysanka".
a massive ovation, bartosz invited to take his well deserved place at the stage, more ovations, flowers and cheers [there were 3000 people in the audience].
and then:
triple curtain call, double encore ["miłość" and "kołysanka"], and triple standing ovations.
the crew had to turn off the lights for the people to stop clapping their hands wanting more.
it was an AMAZING night!!! i really wish you were there with me, guys
PS: i did not bother with the poetry part. as much as i tried to focus, my brain skipped most of it. i don't like poetry.
PS2: the sound quality wasn't spectacular, cause the venue isn't really built for this purpose. but it wasn't terrible either. i could still enjoy the instruments, the choirs, and the vocalists. my seat was right next to the light/sound control table so sometimes i was a bit distracted by the staff, but fortunately the music was so absorbing, i managed to forget the world around me.
PS3: of course there were idiots who left the hall with the first signal of the concert ending "to avoid the traffic jam" [i roll my eyes so hard on them]. but there was police controlling the flow of cars so not much of a jam was created [eyeroll again]. and thanks to a delayed long-distance train i even managed to board my local train home cause it was waiting for passengers to transfer \o/ _________________ DRAGON SICKNESS |
