*bangs head on desk*
I hate being a newbie. Okay, I have WinAmp 2.91 installed and the mp3pro 1.2 codec installed. I have enabled everything in the input (including adding the proxy). I have the proxy set in the general settings. But when I try to connect to the stream it gives me an "unknown host" message. From what I can tell, WinAmp is cutting off the /listen.pls section of the URL. Any idea why? _________________ I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. Is the proxy set in the plugin the same as the proxy you are using for Winamp? Have you tried it without a proxy? _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

I took the proxy out of the Input and still it is cutting of the URL and giving the Unknown Host message.
I also have WinAmp3 installed, could they be interfering with one another?
I have also gone to WinAmp to check out the support and FAQ but there is really no good info. _________________ I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. Try launching the stream from shoutCAST.
Try listening to other stations. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

bah, too make a frustrating story short, WinAmp 2 does not work for me.
So, I will reinstall WinAmp 3 and just wait for the Win3 codec.
Thanks for your suggestions Jeric. They were helpful in determining Win2's problems. _________________ I think I should have no other mortal wants, if I could always have plenty of music. Did you restart winamp when you were done?
Could be your proxy settings...
Or it could be as mundane as, "Keep clicking on the stream. Eventually it will go through."
I tend to find the "tune in" buttons on the shoutcast page work better. But I still have to click on them a few times every so often. |
