Sorry if I sound like a noob since this is my first time here but why not just bring back the good old days and just disable crossfade all together.

If the admin would do that, people can easy rip the streams (Converting the stream to mp3's). With the crossfader the ripper can't make seperate mp3's because there is no gap between the tracks.

Another reason for having the crossfader is professionalism. Without the cross fader there are tracks that end abrubtly and would not be pleasing to the ear. As for bringing back the "good old days", the only time the cross fader was ever not here was when it was broken. Smile There are songs where the cross fader should remain in place and there are tracks where it should be disabled.

PI - Anthem... it ends with a spoken bit that sounds horrible going into another song...

Please?

Helm's Deep by Howard Shore is another song in which the current crossfade starts a little to soon.

Today Tank from the Cowboy Bebop ST was played after and throught it. Maybe something to listen at. Thanx.

Personally, I don't like the cross fading all that much. If anything, it is too much of a cross fade. I'd rather see a second pause between songs than a cross fade, I think.

Van, go read my FAQ.

Or at least Cal's reply to Icono's post.

What is it with our latest crop of new listeners and their opposition to reading the FAQ?

I've actually had a couple say to me, "No Cocles! I don't want to read your FAQ! I'd rather look like a moron when I ask stupid questions! I don't care awesome and funkilicious everyone says you are; I wanna look stupid! So, leave me alone!"

At this point they burst into tears and run away... only to show up a little later and ask if the streams are down. Que sera...

Well not technically a problem with the crossfader I would like to suggest that there are tracks that belong together. In particular I am refering to 'Lucia di Lammermoor' and 'The Diva Dance' from The Fifth Element. If they can be joined as 1 request I know I will be a very happy camper.
