I could do a violin I think. Well it was described as "torture" in the thread above. So that's something I could sign up for.

If I had time to devote to this incredible idea, I, of course, would be the percussion section. I have a TON of instruments that would add cool sounds to the grooves.

I can do what is needed of me with these instruments:

-Bass guitar
-Rhythm guitar (electric, 6-string acoustic, 12-string acoustic)
-Electronic drums (not super experienced so probably can't play very "tight")
-Mixing/Mastering (my main passion)

I'm sure if we had some sheet music for it, Violalover could contribute... you guessed it, viola, and violin. I would need some advice on the best way to record these instruments though (mic positioning, room type etc.).

I've always wanted to be a part of something like this!

Wink Viola and Bass parts coming up!

Laughing Finally. To me, you and Vi are some of our strongest ringers, and are actually the second and third people I tried to recruit months ago.

However you guys choose to contribute, it's going to be awesome. I'm especially glad to hear about the mixing.

With you on violin, Viola on viola and Nessy on cello, I believe we've got a decent strings section.

Now, if only my lungs would heal enough, maybe I could participate too.

Hey Finnster,
If you should find yourself with time and you want to record a few different sweeps of wind chimes, rain stick, a single triangle hit or anything else like that, we could use it! It would be something that could be added during the mixing stage and tempo wouldn’t really factor in, but tempo is around 70bpm.
Just thought I’d float the idea. Smile

You're gonna make me go get my microphones outta the boxes aren't ya??!!

We're still setting this place up (ish) and need to get things completely organized before making a mess out of it so I can record. LOL!

Let me know when you have piano sheets ready. Smile I am not a very advanced player, but frequent practice goes a long way. Wink I would prefer a simpler arrangement that I can play well then something that I am stumbling through, for the sake of the end result. Razz

No, Finn, I won't make you do that. Get settled and then get those mics outta the boxes. Wink

607, I'm making the parts fairly simple and if anyone has an issue with the parts once they are finished, or any concerns about what they may be like, please PM me and we can sort it out. I'm not sure how much longer it will be. I'm picking away at it in my spare time, but I'm feeling the pull to the finish line. Stay tuned!

Same. Sight-reading the harder stuff has always been iffy for me. But give me a few weeks to practice something, and I'll usually get it down pretty well. A recording helps too. Luckily it's not live. Smile

There is now a Google Drive for this project. If Elmer has not PM'd you yet, please PM him your email address. If you didn't post with your interest originally but still want to participate now or possibly in the future, shoot Elmer or I a PM. You'll be sent an invitation and you should be able to fill in any missing information in the roster spreadsheet.

This is also the place where you will download and upload files. I've set up folders and have created a brief Google Doc with file nomenclature standards (or, how to name your files so we can easily find them!).

Additionally SIN is in the process of writing a document on tips for recording yourself and sending the resulting files.

When we have everyone's addresses, there will be a email with further information.

Thanks, everyone!

So we only need to record audio? That's going to make it easier on some of us, I'm sure (definitely on me), but the result is also going to be a lot less personal, I think! You can't really hear that the music is played by all of us. Have you considered the possibility of including video?
