Re: What should determine how many requests you are allowed? (Score: 1) by tjcasser on Monday, April 05, 2004 (User Info | Send a Message) | After thinking this one over... originally, I was thinking that the number of users would be a good and fair way to do it...
But... it's been parked at 1 per 2 hours for the last week or so. I think maybe instead, time of day might be a better gauge - let those of us up at 1 AM have more frequent requests, since fewer folks seem to be requesting at those hours, and ratchet it down at more active times.
Just a thought. |

Re: What should determine how many requests you are allowed? (Score: 1) by Horox on Wednesday, April 07, 2004 (User Info | Send a Message) | I voted number of points, but then again, that's a difficult one, cause it will set people up to junking in the forums just to get the number of requests up...
the most beautifull solution is of course something like 'number of points * 1 / factor_for_playlist_length'
number of listeners is not really an option, i'm listening a lot, but i'm not always requesting, so that that would be a strange way (could mean that in an extreme case only 3 people request while 200 are listening...) |

Re: What should determine how many requests you are allowed? (Score: 1) by s2u4me on Wednesday, April 07, 2004 (User Info | Send a Message) | I think length of queue. The only big drawback is that when some people see the queue shrinking, they will request. If you have alot of people that follow that logic, then the queue will go from (i.e. 3 to 15 real quick) And it will continue that cycle. Just my $.02. |
