(Ok, this HAS to have been brought up before...)
Why doesn't the cycle time for requests equal the queue length at the time you make the initial request?
There are many times when the queue is empty but people listening are still restricted to 1 choice in 2 hours. So everyone sits around listening to random tracks chosen by the computer?
If you make a choice and the queue is 20 minutes at that time, you should be able to come back in 20 minutes and select a follow-up. If at that time the queue is now 2 hours long, then your next pick would be in 2 hours.... etc.
This would be very easy to implement, but it requires knowledge of the queue at the time the person makes the request.

One more thing about the request queue: A premature vote SHOULD NOT reset your request timer. GEEZ. Fix that please.

I believe Jeric's waiting for a new version of the request software to be released. |

Ah yes! the long anticipated and much touted SAM 2.0. I too am looking forward to Jeric's implementation of that. Most of the problems that we have today "should" disappear. In the meantime... We get by with what we have. I certainly hope the situation resolves soo though as when we had less than 100 streams it was bad enough but now that we have over 3000 it is long overdue. _________________ A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day. - Calvin and Hobbes - |

Jeric, you probably already saw this, but if not Audiorealm has a preorder offer for SAM 2.0 where you can get it for only $79. Apparently this is $120 off the retail price.
Just a heads up if you didn't already know...
(You're all staring at "heads up" aren't you? You perverts!) |
