Seat Prices
So we are wondering what seats to buy for the Concert. Prices range from $36 up in the top row to $91 on the floor. What are people willing to pay for tickets? I posted the link above to the seat listing and prices (hopefully it works ok) If you would be so kind as to post where youd like to sit or what you can pay, we can coordinate ticket buying so weve got seats all together! Thanks _________________ The right song can turn an emperor into a laughing stock, can bring down dynasties. A song can last long after the events and people in it are dust and dreams are gone. |

Hello everyone. Much as I would like to meet you all, I think I'm going to pass on this. I really wanted to see Gregson-Williams but I'm not willing to pay $184 and drive all the to Dallas for Casablanca.
I will keep my eyes open for another event I can join you for.
Have fun and drink a toast for me!

In response to the question about the seats I was thinking of meeting somewhere in the middle, in terms of pricing and location. Orchestra Floor has a decent price range, but if anyone wants a nice view of the beautiful McDermott Concert Hall, I suggest we could go with Orchestra Terrace or Dress Circle. I'm fairly certain the acoustics are great in there, so no need to sit up close unless you wish to give the composer a high five.
Plus, the baclony areas look to have a better atmosphere for a small group gathering, easier to find instead of buried in a mass of people and chairs on the floor. Just some extra stuff to think about.
Aww, that's too bad you can't make it, Jhawk. Maybe next time! _________________ The mind that encompasses the universe is as marvelous as the universe that encompasses the mind. |

I'm fine with Grand Tier, Dress Circle, or Orchestra Terrace up to $68 since for me it's more about hanging out together. |

I am thinking Dress Circle as there are still center seats facing forward where as on the Orchestra terrace there are not enough seats together facing forward, we would have to be on the side and that may be annoying while watching the film. Would you all be ok with me buying the tickets all together? Maybe would be easier that way, but if not let me know, thanks for the input! _________________ The right song can turn an emperor into a laughing stock, can bring down dynasties. I prefer center seats facing forward to the orchestra and screen as well.
I think the best method is we pay you (jadedtitan) in advance before let's say feb 17th, so you can order them all together. _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

$61 gets you in the front row on the Dress Circle tier or $51 for the third row. Now which do you all prefer? Once decided I'll buy the tickets (5 right? ...as we have not heard from Yoshi) _________________ The right song can turn an emperor into a laughing stock, can bring down dynasties. According to the post of Dutch (where Nova was added) Yoshi had confirmed to come with partner.
Better be sure (maybe write an email) and Is it certain that Nova is coming, because last time I saw him in chat he was not sure to come to the event, but maybe meet for the gathering.
I do not mind the price. _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

sent Yoshi a PM, sirius and I will talk to Kat tonight about confirmation! Do you know when you will get to Dallas? You posted that Dinner would be friday night then just the concert saturday night, do you have other plans for saturday daytime? I guess just tourism stuff...?
Edit:I had been looking at Friday night tickets, the ones in the same location are $84 and $70. Grand Tier is cheaper, $39 for front row and the rest of the section....do you all want to pay that much? I am more inclined towards the $39 seats but those are up higher....let me know, sorry for the mix up _________________ The right song can turn an emperor into a laughing stock, can bring down dynasties. hmm. On the plus side, next to being more affordable Grand Tier would have an excellent over view of the entire concert hall. I'm not sure what the screen size would be and how important it would be for others to see any and all clips of Casablanca as they play. Being front row on a balcony ensures no obstructed views and chairs to not accidentally kick. Would you want to change the meetup dinner to saturday before the concert Sirius? Would prefer to go to Dallas just once, the concert is at 8 so I think we could have an early dinner and be OK time wise. But let me know, no problem to drive there two nights if that is what you prefer. Not sure what else you have planned. _________________ The right song can turn an emperor into a laughing stock, can bring down dynasties. Dinner on saturday would be ok too. If we have enought time before the concert. Maybe others who only come on saturday can come to the dinner as well. Do not worry about us, we can explore Dallas and surroundings. _________________ That's the beauty of music. They can't take that away from you. (Andy Dufresne)

So since no one else has chimed in, I was thinking to buy the tickets costing $39 on the top tier in the middle somewhere. If youd like me to buy the ticket for you, I can send you my paypal email, let me know. Just so we are all in a group, maybe best for one person to buy them, but not obligated to do it that way. I will buy Dutch & Sirius' tickets (Sirius paid me via paypal) and mine this weekend. It seems to me there will just be 5 of us...right?
And preferences for food for the dinner before the concert?
Edit:Tickets bought, top tier D25-29. There was also a $6 fee for each ticket (i hate silly fees!) _________________ The right song can turn an emperor into a laughing stock, can bring down dynasties. A song can last long after the events and people in it are dust and dreams are gone. |
