I'm really torn between going to NYC or Dallas - wish I could do both but only have funds for one trip. I think both gatherings will be great! |

I couldn't take off work on the 14th, so I opted for Dallas. Sorry I'll miss this one! |

Hi everyone! Any word on possible hotel arrangements, concert/dinner costs? Dutch, I know you are busy and there is still time to register, but AveD and I were wondering if there was a working estimate we can have to start planning out budgets. Thanks for all the work you do getting this together!

I would absolutely love to go to this, however time and cost are a major concern. I hate to be a penny-pincher, but if you could post a rough cost estimate or PM me with it, I truly appreciate it.
Thanks

No news so far, need more registrations to get composers to New York. _________________

Well, my husband and I definitely plan to come, at least Saturday and Sunday. (Can't do Friday; I'm working.)
I know it's a catch-22 here. You need more registrations to plan events, but people want to know about events before they register. Sigh. On that note, any more ideas about Saturday evening/Sunday morning? _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

Well, what do you want me to do? I don't feel right taking the day off, since without me, work doesn't happen. So let's talk about the weekend proper. |

The saturday will have a joined afternoon program to see something of New York followed with a dinner afterwards.
Still working on the catch-22.
Talks are started with Elliott Goldenthal to be our Guest of Honour but nothing definite yet.
Other composers are willing to come too, but then their travelexpenses are that high that I defintely need more registrations.
Sunday is open for suggestions as the planned mini-concert is only possible when we are with a group of 30 or more.
As for a cost-estimate: As long as there are no other events than the planned dinner, it will take your travel- and staying costs to account for.
For the dinner/meet&greet I estimate $40 - $50 _________________

Siri, thanks for posting that link, that actually looks a bit cheaper than ones I was looking at and that Priceline offered me.
To any and all: if there is no mini-concert on Sunday, would people be up for more general sightseeing, or trying to see a Broadway/off-Broadway show? I know those can be pricey, so this is merely a suggestion... _________________ The journey of one thousand miles begins with a single step. |

Okay, I sent in my official registration for me and my husband. I'm not on Facebook, so I can't be added to that list, but I'm in as far as I can be.
Anything I may do to help, aside from grammar and punctuation editing (a service I provide free and unasked)? _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

I have just booked my hotel and will be staying at the hotel Siri and Dutch will be at. Since my uncle also lives in NYC, I will be staying with him Thurs and Fri nights, but he lives only 3 miles from that hotel, so I will still be close by for activities. I'm getting so excited!! _________________ The journey of one thousand miles begins with a single step. |
