Pete, as always, you are beautiful. And your frequent invitations on this thread have made me wish I were more of a drinker, so I could appreciate half of what you've offered to make us. Maybe your charming smile will help them "find" a table for us.
My usual M.O. in Manhattan is to visit the TKTS booth and see what's available. Matinees are at 2pm, usually done by 5. Evening perfs are at 8, unless they aren't. Check online for schedules. Of course, the TKTS booth opens at 3pm for the evening shows.
Failing a decent matinee, I plan to visit the comic book museum. http://www.moccany.org/content/blog _________________ I have a book coming out. Wanna see it?

Not sure what people are doing
on Saturday. I have a lot of work
to take care of and won't be in
touch, likely, for the first part of
the Saturday. I suspect people
will be going about the town during
the day and so, I think it safe, for
you (LadyI) to take the matinee
and jot it down, here. I will then
opt for some kind of later reserv-
ation, with them. I will be by
there, later on, today and will
have a drink, there. I will do my
best to secure a reservation that
is closer to 7pm. In this way, you
will have your shot at the show
and if we need to kill time, I will
find us a way.
I'll try and step in to help. There
is a lot to do in NYC to fill the time
and we're all, here, in the same
hotel and all. It should be no
problem to accommodate.
Please respond with your matinee
time and I will do the rest.

You are sweet, LadyI and
again, I am looking forward
to seeing you and yours.
I will just say it, here (it's
safe): Everyone (here, at
the hotel), meet me in my
quarters for cocktails from
4pm-6pm, or so. Do not
worry about being prompt.
There will be enough to
anesthetize any that care.
We'll all, then, stroll down
to the reservation and
carry on, with our party
at a time, soon to be des-
ignated.

What Viola said, Pete. THANK YOU!
I have no personal great plans while
there except for the museum & a visit
to St. Patrick's; maybe a longer hike
over to Central Park to sit a spell
(barring any knee/physical
annoyances). Just going to do my
usual free spirit thing. The cocktail
hour will be jolly fun as will dinner
with you all.
Yes, Pete..charm those Havana people
with your brilliant smile!
Safe travels, everyone -- see you
all soon !

Well, I was just there and they
made a decent caipirinha and we
had some decent lunch and con-
versation about sweetening but
it turns out that Saturday is their
biggest night and all I could get
that was even close to the dark
was a 7:45pm. I got it for 8 of
us, just in case.
I know it is much later than the
first times we jotted but this will
give everyone a chance to do
things during the day AND as
we approach the hour, you can
have my suite, where there are
Hendrick's martinis waiting for
you and I will even color them
blue, with curacao or bitters!
On top of that a client gave me
a bottle of Tequila that I can
color blue, as well, for you.
Soft music and cocktails... You'll
be taken care of.

Thanks for the legwork, Pete!
I don't have a smartphone, so I won't be able to keep tabs on this forum after Saturday morning. I forgot and I'm too lazy to look back in the thread - with whom can I exchange phone numbers to stay in the loop in case something changes? |

At $56 a bottle, it better be
good martinis at Pete's pad!

OK for everyone visiting the concert on Friday night I suppose gathering in the lobby of the Wellington at 7pm seems leaving enough time for meeting/hugging and getting to the venue.
Concert starts at 8pm
As I said earlier on, we follow any time planned and ideas for the weekend. I can do with a "White Russian" Pete
Is the cocktailhour starting around 5,6 or 6.30pm? _________________

If you do not mind, gin, I have
the espresso to purify but will
need a touch of milk/creamer.
Let me see what I can do.
5pm is customary but I know
everyone is running, so let's
say 6pm.
I assume everyone will take
care of their dinners, tonight
(Friday). There are little places
about, here and there. A cafe,
downstairs. Other places on a
and around the block.
There is always the standard
over-priced room service, too.
See you at 6pm. Pm me for
the suite number. I am on
the East Wing.

So let me see if I have this:
FRIDAY
6pm - Cocktails with Pete
7pm - meet up in the lobby of the Wellington
http://www.wellingtonhotel.com
8pm - Concert begins at Carnegie. Link, anyone?
SATURDAY
morning - on your own
7:45 - dinner reservations at Havana Central in Times Square
http://www.havanacentral.com/home1.php
Have I left anything out? Of course I have. Tell me, and maybe we can get a master schedule together. |

That's what I have, LadyI.
Oh, wait. No. There will
be cocktails at Pete's, again,
Saturday, BEFORE dinner.
How's 4pm sound?

I called and changed the
reservations for 7 of us.
No problem, with that. I
hope we can get seated
upstairs but with the night
so busy, I cannot count
on anything.
No Hendricks but they have
great mojitos and caipirinhas.
