LadyI,
If you guys are later and you
want to just meet us at the
Havana, it's under Corona.
We'll meet you there, in that
case. No problem.

Here's the updated sched:
FRIDAY

8pm - Concert begins at Carnegie. Link, anyone?
SATURDAY

I think that's got it. Not to be "that guy," but don't forget some non-alc stuff, too.

The reservations are for 7:45pm,
at the Havana Central, for 7 people,
not 8. The time was not changed.

How about a review of a splendid concert that gave goosebumps with every first line of notes of the next track that was played.
An outstanding performance by an orchestra that knows how it's played conducted by Steven Reineke, himself big scorefan and student of Henry Mancini. A feast of reckognition that lasted the whole concert.
For the ones who missed it and want to get a hunch of it:
*Hollywood salute (overture)
*"Robin and his merry men" - Erich W.Korngold
(from ' Adventures of Robin Hood)
*Tara's theme - Max Steiner
(from ' Gone with the wind)
*Main theme - Victor Young
(from ' Around the world in 80 days)
*Parade of the charioteers - Miklos Rosza
(from ' Ben Hur' )
*Moon river - Henry Mancini
(from 'Breakfast at Tiffany's')
*Main theme - Maurice Jarre
(from 'Lawrence of Arabia')
*Born free - John Barry
*Theme from ' Summer of ' 42' - Michel Legrand
*Love theme - Nino Rota
(from ' the Godfather II' )
intermission:
John Williams 80th birthday tribute:
* March from Superman
* Hymn of the Fallen - Saving Private Ryan
* Harry's wondrous world - Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone
* Double Trouble - HP & the prisoner of Azkaban
* Theme from Schindler's List
* Duel of the Faiths - Star Wars; the phantom menace
* Across the stars - Star Wars; Attack of the clones
* Battle of the heroes - Star Wars; Revenge of the Sith
* Main Theme from Star Wars; a new hope
extra: Cantina Band from Star Wars; a new hope.
You missed something!!
Greetings from the SST-group in New York. _________________

Just getting up, here. I guess
I was really tired.
Of course, the show was great
but the company was better!
DB and Siri are so the great reps
for the site. Wonderful people!
Viola and Ave are darlings and
the truth, with these people, I
scarcely need an event. We
can talk all night, really.
The closer to 4pm, here, the more
time we will have to visit. I will be
here, working so don't worry.
I have Hendricks, curacao, lemon,
lime, vermouth and tequila left.
hehe
I wonder how DB and Siri liked
their drinks.
*wonders*
OK. I need a shave. I will get
back to you, later and say more
about the show etc.

The music was fabulous, btw.
Great enthusiasm from the
conductor: Steven Reineke.
Performances were gallant;
impossible parts, really.
Jarre's Lawrence of Arabia
and JW's Private Ryan were
real favorites, along with
Young's Around the World
in 80 Days. Rozsa's work
from Ben Hur was fab, too.
What a show!
Well, I can go on. I am so
happy to be part of this and
look forward to it, again.
Thanks, DB, Siri, Ave and
Viola for a great night!!
*heart*
