I have had a problem with Live365 for some days. I am a registered user at L365 and I listen to the stream through my winamp player. It was ok for a while, I could listen to the stream.
When I am logged in and launch L365 through winamp an operator keeps saying "your session isn't valid, please verify that you are logged in properly and try listening again". Even though I'm logged in I can't listen to the stream.
It's the same if I start L365 from SST, from www.live365.com or from my winamp player. What could be the problem? |

Oops, I think it's not the right topic to ask for help but anyway it's related to Live365. |

How long have you been having the problem, and are you still having it now? |

This could be a cookie issue. Do you have multiple Live365 accounts? _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

How about deleting your coockies and start all over: do exactly as is described in the l365 FAQ. |

Do you mean I should sign up again at Live365, get a new login name and password, choose SST and try to listen to it through winamp? If yes, I will try.
Anyway, I deleted all the cookies, signed in again and launched the player. Winamp opened and it started playing but not on 64 kbps but on 32 kbps, and by the way it showed the song titles. I think that was not the L365 stream but the simple stream through winamp, right? |

Skadaddy,
What works for me is to log into Live365 from their webpage. Then, open up SST's webpage in a new window or through Winamp's browser and click on the Live365 icon. I used to get this message as well ("your session isn't valid, please verify that you are logged in properly and try listening again") and the above procedure fixed the problem. _________________ "Get it?...Got it!...GOOD!" -- The Court Jester |

I also had to do a full reboot after signing up. |

Robert and Graywolf,
I tried either way but it just didn't work out for me. I really don't know what else I can do to fix this problem because I really want to help the site by listening to the L365 stream. I think I will sign up again and try. The strange thing is that there was no problem at all with it a week and a half ago.
If you or anyone else have suggestions, please tell me. After having signed up again, I will tell you what was the result of it.
Thanks your advice. |

You should report your problem to Live365. They are usually pretty good on getting back to you. They also have a good FAQ. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

I contacted the L365 team. They sent me the following:
The reason a bookmark link only works temporarily is that the session ID
info that authenticates you as a valid member expires. Storing and
launching stations in this manner is not supported.
1) Log out of Live365 then delete all temporary internet files from
Internet Explorer (Tools->Internet Options->Delete Files)
2) Delete all cookies from Internet Explorer (Tools->Internet
Options->Delete Cookies)
3) Shut down all instances of Internet Explorer (IE)
4) Restart IE, go here
(http://www.live365.com/members/login.live?url=http://www.live365.com/mylive365/),
bookmark the page then log in to Live365 and click "Remember Me".
5) Download and install "Start365" to have convenient access to your
Live365 presets. http://www.live365.com/downloads/start365/
I did everything the way they had told me to do so except number 5. But it still doesn't work. I hope they will figure out what the problem could be. This must be a very specific problem. |

Are you using any internet security programs or cookie blocking tools? If you have the settings set too high you can get all sort of issues. |

No, I'm not using any Internet security program or cookie blocking tool, but actually I have figured out something. After having logged in on www.live365.com, I have to wait like 5-10 minutes and try to launch the stream through winamp, then it works. So it's strange but somehow I have to wait some minutes to be able to listen to the l365 stream. Problem solved until further notice. |

I was going to suggest that you might have pop-up's disabled. When you click on the L365 button on the SST site, it tries, the first time you get your username/password, to open a popup. If you disable that and let it go through the motions of you typing in your name and password, then you can disable the popups again and it will work fine.
I had this happen when I installed a new browser, and went back and forth with L365 on the specifics. |
