One year has passed but Malmoe is still a beautiful city and local filharmonics still know how to play good music.
I enjoyed my second meeting with Malmö SymfoniOrkester, the conductor - Charles Hazlewood (full of energy and positive attitiude), charming soprano - Sabina Zweiacker and charismatic host - Orvar Säfström (even though I don't understand a word in Swedish ). I also was impressed big time by a new artist to me - powerful tenor - Rickard Söderberg. Wow!
Here you can listen to (picture quality is bad) Final Fantasy VI aria from the concert. Somebody uploaded it to Youtube already. It was the best part of the concert in my opinion (be careful if you are at work - the clip is loud).
I also was surprised in a very positive way by the piece from Gustavo Santaolalla [The Last of Us: All Gone (No Escape)] with a nice cello solo.
The concert was great. Definitely worth a visit.
Plans are to have Joystic 7.0 concert in January 2015 already. I hope I can be there again.
BTW: Thanks for a nice, relaxing weekend Girlfriend and Dutchbat. It is always a pleasure! _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,

Yw, Mol.
It was a great concert indeed. awesome pieces and arrangements.
Duet from Final Fantasy 6 blew away last year's public favorite " Dragonborn Cometh" that was added to the program.
Joystick 7.0 is planned for January 15th, not to be missed IMHO. _________________

Here you can see Sabina Zweiacker singing a fragment of "Dragonborn Comes" in less official circumstances - but we still are inside the venue building:
And here a few words from the conductor himself:

Going to the Zimmer concert in Hamburg. Otherwise it would be a nice idea.

Sounds like the best of "The greatest Video Game Music", intriguing programm really. Would be the third big concert for me this year, I really have to check my budget first before I can say anything specific. But it is quite tempting for me as well, as I always wanted to see a Video Game Music concert. Is there a deadline, till when you decide, if you want to go, mol?

I guess everything depends on availability of concert tickets and a good flight.
So far I only checked possible flight connections from Poland.
And I know there are still some concert tickets available (best seats cost 395 Swedish kronas).
I haven't looked at hotel prices yet.
I used a cheap carrier to fly to Malmoe in the past, so traveling costs were the smallest problem. And - at least at the moment - I could travel to Malmö the same way this year.
Sweden itself is rather expensive, though.
So far Malmö was my fav spot for VGM played live and I enjoyed the sound of MSO every time I went there, but I haven't decided if I go there this year definitely.
If we could go there together (or maybe even with more company) that would be quite encouraging element to do that trip.
BTW: And if we decide to go there, I would be glad to share a hotel room, if you don't mind. _________________ <i>"The piano keys are black and white,
