Since there was never any release of a FBDO soundtrack, this doesn't make much sense. _________________ Do you like soundtracks on vinyl? Check out my shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/MovieVinyl

Some clarifications on this one:
1. It is a single track, only available from Amazon digital store as a MP3.
2. This is a classical track which was used in the movie; not an original sound track.
Therefore, I voted no. Sorry SanWan! _________________ "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe" - Blade Runner |

SanWan - You probably would enjoy our 1980's.fm station here.
The track "Oh Yeah" by Yello is there on the Stella album.
Enjoy! |

So now that La La Land Records has officially announced the release of Ferris Bueller's Day Off, does SST have any plans to add this title to database?

BEGINNING AT 12 NOON (PST)
FERRIS BUELLER’S DAY OFF: LIMITED EDITION LLLCD 1391
Contains songs from the film and music by Ira Newborn
Limited Edition of 5000 Units
RETAIL PRICE: $19.98
La-La Land Records and Paramount Pictures commemorate the 30th Anniversary of FERRIS BUELLER’S DAY OFF with the world premiere of the official soundtrack album!
Ohh, yeahhh…! Requested by fans for more than three decades, the official, original motion picture soundtrack to the classic John Hughes film, starring Matthew Broderick, Alan Ruck and Mia Sara, has finally arrived in a special, limited edition collector’s CD, featuring songs from the film and the original score by acclaimed composer Ira Newborn (THE NAKED GUN TRILOGY, UNCLE BUCK, PLANES TRAINS AND AUTOMOBILES). Long-sought-after and rare song tracks, like BEAT CITY by The Flowerpot Men, (mixed and mastered for this release by original artists Ben Watkins and Adam Peters) and I’M AFRAID by Blue Room (vocal and instrumental versions), make their CD world premieres here, while Sigue Sigue Sputnik’s “Ultraviolence Mix” of LOVE MISSLE F1-11 makes its North American CD debut. Standout tracks such as Yello’s immortal OH YEAH, The Dream Academy’s ballad EDGE OF FOREVER and their museum-scene-instrumental PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE LET ME GET WHAT I WANT, Wayne Newton’s parade-show-stopper DANKE SCHOEN, and more are showcased here, as well as the world premiere of composer Ira Newborn’s original score. Bonus Tracks include alternate score and source cues. Produced for La-La Land by Dan Goldwasser and Neil S. Bulk, and mastered in stereo from original vault elements by Stephen Marsh, this special release of 5000 units features revealing, in-depth liner notes by writer Tim Greiving, with new and extensive interview comments from the film’s original music supervisor Tarquin Gotch, the film’s editor Paul Hirsch, and John Hughes’ son, James Hughes!
Due to licensing restrictions, a few of the film’s songs could not be included on this CD, but they are available elsewhere. This celebratory release is a dynamite listen, and its booklet a fascinating and revelatory read – an absolute must for fans. So get yours now, ‘cause even Abe Froman’s going to want one of these!
This release becomes available exclusively at www.LaLaLandRecords.com on 9/13 at 12 noon (PST) and other online soundtrack boutiques.

If this album was released and donated to SST it would only concern on track 10-26 + bonus tracks 34 and 35.
All songs could be transferred to '80's fm. |

Can you please explain SST's logic behind this, as I'm thoroughly confused by it?
Why wouldn't SST include tracks 1-9? They're part of the movie soundtrack, and are heard extensively throughout the film. Just because they're not part of the orchestral score it's to be excluded? Yet you have several other movie soundtracks on SST that contain songs (not scores) from films, i.e. "The Power of Love" and "Back in Time" by Huey Lewis and the News from Back to the Future, or the complete soundtrack from Top Gun.
I'm not trying to be a jerk about it, I'm just completely perplexed about SST's guidelines about what can and cannot be allowed in the database. If it's a licensing issue, as an example, how is it that you can include all the songs from Top Gun, but not have any of the songs from Beverly Hill Cop? One soundtrack is allowed, yet another isn't? |
