That's right boys and girls. This is the official nomination call for the 2002 SST Awards!
Here are the rules:
Nominees must be soundtracks that were released for the first time in 2002. Films, TV and Games are all eligible.
You can make as many nominations as you want.
The award will be "Best Soundtrack of 2002".
Nominations will be accepted until Midnight Friday night February 21st, (Pacific/Chatboard Time Zone).
Jeric and I will then have one week to compile a voting list and set up a poll.
The winner will then be announced on March 23rd on the Forum, right before the Academy awards. |

If it is not too much trouble, I like to have a list of all the 2002 albums on the playlist. Is that possible? |

It seems I'm the first to submit a nomination :-)
Okay, I'm going to submit the one to beat :

Figure every movie on this list will automatically be nominated and part of the poll. What we need are soundtracks that you feel should be nominated that are NOT on that list. |

Well, thats a great idea.
My nomination is: "Spirit, Stallion of the Cimarron" from Hans Zimmer.
I have bought the CD and I can listen to it over and over without being bored of it. It has been long since that has happened with a piece of music... last one in my memory doing this was "Lion King" from the same author. _________________ Fear is the path to the Dark Side. We could shut requests down for a day and play nothing but nominations so everyone gets a good listen before voting. Just an idea. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

Thats a GREAT idea!
I like the best Score Category, but what about the worst score of 2002. I think that could be fun.
Ill have my nominations up later. ( This takes time people )
EDIT:
Die Another Day - David Arnold
The Hours - Phillip Glass
The Time Machine - Klaus Badelt (there's your winner)
Two Towers - Howard Shore
Treasure Planet - James Newton Howard
*Unearthed - E.S. Posthumous
*- Its not a score, but its part of this site. _________________ By responding in any way shape or form, you contractually agree that I’m right, and youre wrong. |

Unearthed would be eligible if it was a 2002 release. It was released in 2001. So, scratch that one off the list for now. But we'll definitely consider it for the 2001 awards. That’s right; we're going to have 2001 & 2000 awards too. So you can think of more nominations for 2001 & 2000 in the mean time. But let's get 2002 over with first before we start nominating previous years. _________________ "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?." -Maximus

You wouldn't have every soundtrack that came out in 2002 on the poll would you? That would be silly. The point of nomination here is to pick from among the many, a select few to then vote on. Of course good tracks that are not on the list would need to be nominated, but this is sort of the vote before the vote isn't it?
I can't remember what has been nominated already so I will list what I like.
Time Machine
LOTR Two Towers
Catch me if you can
Signs
Harry Potter
Attack of the Clones
Black Hawk Down
American Journey |
