Is it just me or has the community forum actually become a poll/question forum ?
I mean this forum was the home of many funny threads and not to mention a lot of interesting debates and even feuds. I preferred the latter.
Now it's like : "what waffle do you prefer?", "what's your favorite mongolian movie?", with 4 pages of replies, I don't know.. Bring in something better to make me sharpen my forum claws, I'm begging you. _________________ "By the time they had diminished from 50 to 8, the other dwarves began to suspect 'Hungry.'" -- Gary Larson |

Well of course we can do a poll on what kind of forum we want lol!
I am wondering how many marketeers (exept Gray are watching the forums) |

Well, there was an ok discusssion about oil/energy sources a couple of weeks ago. But yeah, I agree, this forum has been pretty sleepy.
Oddly enough, the entertainment forum has probably had more debate action recently. |

A lot of the recent newcomers are also pretty thin skinned.
Recent interesting threads would often turn into almost flame wars because some doofus newb couldn't handle a little ribbing.
Problem is there's a lot of them, so when one starts crying you've suddenly got a dozen of them scolding you.
They remind me of the bible beaters we used to have, who kept calling people sinners. Remember those days? They were like bees. You'd wound one and dozens would suddenly appear out of thin air to defend their comrade.
...Just like our crop of thin skinned newbs.
Remember the guy who freaked out because I said THX wasn't all it's cracked up to be?
Or how about CaptainAdam freaking out because *gasp* in some parts of the world people eat horsemeat.
Even worse were guys like Buscemi who made it their personal mission to defend those wimps the second they started whining.
Thank god I took a vacation. |

Perhaps it was a good thing I missed the horsemeat debate. Although personally I'd have loved to write a flame or two in the thread.. I suppose the thread would have had 12 pages by now..
Good thing it died, at least the flamewar part of it.
ps: In case you're wondering on what side I would have flamed : horse meat is not uncommon here in Belgium, and I'm no vegetarian. _________________ "By the time they had diminished from 50 to 8, the other dwarves began to suspect 'Hungry.'" -- Gary Larson |

Apparently Jeric deleted most of the offending posts (including one of mine where I told Captain Adam it wasn't his place to dictate what people could talk about) and everyone agreed to stop fighting.
CaptainAdam's young though. Perhaps it taught him a lesson. |

Hey, not all newbies are thinned skinned!
But there do seem to be a lot of whiny ones who refuse to read the FAQ.
Slow Mo = what kind of forum post would you like to see (being a newbie myself i have no idea what used to go on)
Glad the horsemeat one is gone now, yuk. _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |

I didn't say, "all". I said we had a crop of them. |

sorry SlowMo, is there a huge difference there? And I am still on my first cup of coffee. Takes at least 2 for me to pay attention _________________ 'He looked at her, and being a man whom pity deeply stirred, it seemed to him that her loveliness amid her grief would pierce his heart.' —Faramir's thoughts on Éowyn |
