Well, here's what I do: Ghost images!
Take a random photograph - like this one:
Now use Photoshop to edit out the "ghost" and create a new background:
Make a new layer with the "ghost" and toy around with the opacity value until it looks right. Voilà!
You should try it, it's fun! |

Or be lazy and just look at what other people have done in Photoshop (or the GIMP) at Worth1000.com.

Yes, I used mostly the clone stamp, some copy & paste and the simple brush tool. |

Ah okay! thanks. I did something similar trying to edit out some people in a photo, but I only used the clone stamp tool. It didn't come out as cleanly as yours did. Good work. |
