zimmer for me, but thats more a personal favourite really.
I think anyone trained well enough, could pick out these distinguishing elements certain composers use _________________ Schwing |

I'm gonna say John Williams. I'm so used to hearing the ascending trills he so often uses. I just recognize his work whenever I hear it, the only other soundtrack composer I can think of that I can recognize that easily is Nobuo Uematsu just because I've also listened to soo much of his work. |

I would pick Michael Kamen because most of his score were dramatic yet, at the same time, exciting and uplifting like what he did in "Iron Giant". I would said he's the best in my list. My other vote would be Joe Hisaishi because his scores were beautiful as well. |

There are many great composers, but the ones that really stand out would have to be John Williams and Danny Elfman. |

If you're talking recognizable, then I would say Thomas Newman. He has a very unique style both in motifs and orchestration. |

Hans Zimmer seems to be the easiest to pick out for me. He makes Disney movies sound like action flicks, or is it the other way around? The Lion King in Crimson Tide, for example. _________________ When all else fails, consider time travel.

I would have to add another vote for Elfman and Williams. They both have a very distinct style and are very recognizable. |

Interesting that there isn't a whole lot of consensus here, and this topic has been going on for some time.
It sounds to me like its coming down to the composers you know best, you recognize their stuff the fastest! |

Williams and Horner are very easy to recognise.
I think Zimmer, Goldsmith, Elfman, and Mancini are fairly easy to recognise too. _________________ "I love arguing with myself, I always win!" -GK |
