One of the things I love about John Williams is tends to revisit all his cues in his endtitles.. So you generally get a longer piece that really samples all the different sounds.! _________________ "Well behaved women seldom make history"-Laurel Ulrich 1976 |

exactly worker. I've noticed that Elfman has done the montage end title with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Please correct me if I'm wrong (and I know y'all will ), I think it's the first ST he's done like that. Most of his other STs fade into some pop song.
There are several Williams end titles that I like, but my favorite is Mischief Mananged! from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. _________________ "It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you live near him." ~ J.R.R. Tolkien

The first score to pop into my head on this one is Contact. I find it very moving every time I hear it. |

I think one of the most powerful is Forrest Gump end titles. I had to sit in the theater through the credits so I could compose myself

Williams and Horner did the best end titles (CEOT3K, E.T., Indiana Jones, Star Wars / American Tail, Land Before Time or Rocketeer)
but my fav is Elfman's End Credits from Dolores Claiborne . Great!
I like very much end titles from Blade Runner (Vangelis) and Death Becomes Her (Silvestri) too ! |

You know, Alan Silvestri seems to be represented more often than usual when we're talking about the best end titles (Contact, Forrest Gump, Death Becomes Her). I think he's an underrated composer in any case, but maybe he has a special flair for putting the finishing touch on a film. |

.) Star Trek: First Contact (J. Goldsmith)
.) Predator II (another A. Silvestri)
.) The Thin Red Line (H. Zimmer, in the movie, not on the album)
.) Schindler's List (J. Williams)
.) Unbreakable (J.N. Howard at his best, but also The Village had a nice arrangement in the film, not on the record)
.) Damien: Omen II
.) The Final Conflict (both J.Goldsmith)
.) The Edge (this jazz variation from the Goldsmith theme is just great, which of course leads to:)
.) The Russia House (Goldsmith)
.) Tora, Tora, Tora (in many ways an underrated score of the late master)
.) E.T. (cuddly Williams)
...
I ran out of ideas, but I'm sure, you'll surely find something to add to this long list. |
